Sappy, schmaltzy
Book arrived in great shape. No complaints except that it is a sickeningly sweet story about a beautiful captive princess and a Roman centurion who has totally given up any vestige of dignity. I quit reading it about a third through.

Good Read
A good and engaging love story once you get past the 1st 2 chapters. A lot of Latin and other words I needed to look up the meaning.

Over my head!
Great book, I'm sure! But, for me, requires much study.

Great book, wrong size!
Great book! Classic! BUT, this came in an 8x11 format! I thought it would be a regular size book. My surprise. I much prefer something that is easier to hold.

Great book!
One of my all time favorite novels! Great historical fiction of Rome during the days of Nero. A must read before you see the movie.

A good read
This book is a fascinating look at Rome and Christianity at the time of Nero. Once one gets over the Latin names, the book is gripping and reveals a time very different from our own. I loved it.

First Century Rome in all its shame and glory
Quo Vadis is a fictionalised novel of the Emperor Nero's reign brilliantly researched and accurate in convincing minute detail of the Roman lifestyle of culture, brutality and corruption in first century Rome. An aristocrat of the Roman court falls in love with a Christian women who is a hostage of high ranking status. It leads us into the corrupt underworld of court plot and counter plot, the dangerous and deadly choices of the persecuted Christian community with how its leadership of St.Peter and St.Paul might have connected with the highest and the lowest of the ranks. A classic and long read worth the effort.

Historical novel
I bought this novel to my daughter, i red it a long time ago. Sienkiewicz alludes to several events and merges them in his novel, but some of them are of doubtful authenticity. Great novel! Love it!
