Llevo años preparando expresso en mi casa. Por más experiencia que tengo, nunca pude nivelar el café uniformemente. A veces si, a veces no. Con esta herramienta, fácil de utilizar, el nivel de café en simétrico y la calidad del expresso mejoró mucho porque junto con otros utensilios, acabé con la canalización.

Better than I expected!
I wasn't sure if the "self leveling" feature would be useful or if it was just a gimmick. Turns out this thing actually works really well! Constuction is top-notch - all metal build and the self leveling function works by a precision drilled hole that regulates air pressure allowing the leveler to slowly drop into place - no rubber or gaskets to get clogged or ever wear out. Anyway, the leveler functions smoothly and in a controlled fashion so it is much more than just a weight to push the grounds down. I start with the leveler top side down so the plunger is fully retracted then I flip it over and immediately place on the portafilter and begin spinning. After about 5 spins the plunger will have fully extended and leveled the coffee grounds. Then I follow up with a traditional tamper (this is absolutely necessary) and then I'm good to go to pull my shot.

Worked perfectly, until it didn't. . .
I was super impressed with this product for the first several months. My puck preparation had become a little less time consuming and noticeabley more consistent. Until a few days ago, when I picked up the leveler, let it extend and then placed it in my porta. I gave it a few turns after it lowered, then took it out and placed it on the table. Only, it didn't compress all the way and remained extended about 4mm. So i unscrewed the top and tried to jiggle the metal rod inside, but nothing happened. So I gave it a little love tap with a rubber mallet and voila! It seemed to be the end of the issue, until just now. I gave it another rubber mallet love tap, only this time the mechanism is wobbly. Could be user error, could be poor design. Either way, it worked so wonderfully while it lasted that I still had to give it 3 stars.

Das System ist so einfach, aber deswegen nicht ungleich genial! Dieser leveler stellt sich automatisch auf die verwendete Kaffeemenge ein, genial! Ich nutze seitdem keinen anderen mehr.
