Q: My ossur has both eyelets and hooks. is it a “speedlace”?

The one I ordered is exactly like the one they fitted me for at my doctor's office. It has laces and eyelets, no hooks it's velcro. I was going to purchase a second one at the office but too expensive! Thank God I'm done with wearing it but it was comfortable and so supportive when it was needed. Good luck to you, and wear it when you should!

Q: Can you really wear your regular size shoe over this?

I wore it over my tennis shoes. I ware a wide shoe. I bought it, tried it and it fit otherwise I would have returned it. I don’t ware it anymore because of foot surgery.

Q: what are the removable stays they are talking about do they go on side of ankle are they stiff to provide support?

YES THE REMOVABLE STAYS ARE ON THE SIDES OF THE BRACE. They are not very stiff if you need support. The brace itself is convenient to put on vs the lace up kind.
