Botan Calrose Rice, 320 Ounce

Found a huge piece of glass, sharp on both ends, inside the rice. Please do examine the rice before you wash it. The manufacturer should avoid this type of fatal error.

It's the second time that I order this product. The first purchase is good.The first look of the rice was its dirty bag. It seems that it has been stored in some humid place for 10 years. I still expected the product to be good since the bag looked solid. However, when the cook time came, I opened the bag and saw a lot of grey rice mixed in white rice. The grey rice was rotten, and molded. So the whole product was not usable and disgusting.I am not sure whether I can return this product, because it's opened and too heavy.

While processing the "wrong item sent" on Amazon, one of my cats found the bag of dog food and bit into the bag. I was only gone 10-15 minutes. Came back with the printed return label and there it was, full of little holes! So what should I do???? I'd like to send a photo of the bag and my cat Jasper...it's really kind of funny! We don't own a dog and not sure dog food is ok for cats. Obviously, Jasper wanted a taste! My heart goes out to all the people working to fill our orders amid this crisis. No biggy on the mistake, but now I have a cat bitten 14 lb bag of dog food to return.

This title pretty much says it all. Botan rice is a short grain, white rice, produced by Cal Rose from rice grown in California. It may look like it's from Japan, but that's just market packaging. Best rice around if you like white rice. I prefer it, but also eat brown rice occasionally as I make that for my four dogs. I don't have any super hypoglycemic index info for you. I just like the product.

This is my second time buying this rice and I'm pretty pleased with it. I live in south texas so finding medium grain rice where I’m at ain’t so easy. Shipping was quick and the bag was not damaged either time, which is great because you never know what to expect when you order heavy things in bags like this and especially rice. It could go either way but I have not had a problem with that thank goodness. I have NOT found anything weird in the rice or hd any issues in that sense so thats great as well. I may consider subscribing to get this sent regularly but i have decided yet. Anyway all in all I am pleased with my orders so far.

I usually get calrose rice, and I can get it at my local box store. However, the haven't been carrying the bigger bags of rice, it usually has been a small one. The price of this size is actually cheaper than the box store price, so it was worth it to me.

With white rice lasting at least 4-5 years, or even longer if vacuum sealed, other types of rice are also listed and conditions described in our table. This is important when you're looking down another double-barrel of possible food shortages. And it goes great with chicken and vegetables.

I used to buy sushi rice at Whole Foods Market for almost $5 a lb, and was not happy about that. The long-grain version wasn't the same, and their Calrose is $3 a pound. So I used to trek to the Asian markets for rice and buy it in bulk for about 80 cents a lb. .. but it's a long trek on a bike (or car sharing adds to the price) heavy, and the rice sometimes smells fishy. This recently appeared and the heavens opened! Finally, a great-priced rice delivered right to my door. Love this rice - yummy and affordable.
