I bought 2, 5packs. I like wearing wool socks all year, they keep my feet warm and when they do sweat it i don't get "swamp feet". Like many have pointed out these are kinda short, not something for tall hiking boots or any boots that are tall, but if you are used to short hiking boots, or hiking shoes these are perfect. They make perfect Birk socks! I have worn them with Birks, and low cut hiking shoes, I work in an environment that I get in my 10K steps a day, but also have to be professional, they fit that role perfectly. It has not got to the snow season yet, so I cannot comment on how they will deal with that, but compared to my other quality wool socks I do not have any worries.I am writing this review after wearing them out of the package for a day, then laundry and wearing them time #2. They held up in laundry just fine, and cannot see any difference then a pair that has not been work at all. Good cushion, Not to tight in the cuff, but still stay up all day.Really good socks, and when my older wool socks start to die this winter, I will be ordering more.

Bought them for my son, he needed warm socks as he was traveling (he is 15) with school. Worked well, comfortable, warm, and great quality. The fit was as described and the color options were great. They are durable so far.

I washed before using them and followed the instructions, drying on low. They are so soft it’s wonderful. I should tell you I wear these at night because my feet are freezing in bed but with these on I am in heaven and not too hot. Perfection.

Very thick and comfortable! A little snug at the top of the sock and made my husband’s legs puffy at the end of the day. I cut a small slit on each side of the top band of the sock and that stopped the swelling. My husband is very tall and has thin muscular calves. He stands all day so these socks being thick help make standing a bit more bearable.

The socks are well made, warm and very soft. Wearing a size 10 - 10 1/2 shoe I got the bigger size. They are a little bigger than I'd prefer and washing and drying them did not seem to shrink them.

I wish I had read more reviews that mentioned the sock height. These are made with nice materials, the Merino doesn't itch at all, the terry-loop interior keeps feet dry or dry-ish no matter how much you sweat, and they look quite nice. A good compromise in thickness, too -- warm, but not so thick like boot socks that they won't fit in normal shoes. But the height is so short that I had to give mine away.
