Very sturdy handle and scoop
I bought another scoop to keep in Florida. The scoop is heavy duty and can’t see it ever breaking. I was leary about the handle since it comes in two parts but it is metal sleeved and plenty sturdy. I feel rotten making any even small complaint because scoop and handle are well made but I made my own handle on my first scoop and it has a rough grip that is easy to hang on to and drag along. This new handle has a smooth grip and it’s just a little slippery. The handle though is lighter than my homemade one so all in all I love it.

Sturdy and Lite! Perfect for Travel!
I had read a review that someone had a hard time drilling the hole for the screw. I used a concrete drill bit and it took no time at all to get the hole drilled. I love this handle. It is lite weight and sturdy as can be. I metal detect the beaches of Okinawa, Japan and there are lots of rocks and coral. My handle has held up smashingly. I was a little nervous after I ordered it because I saw a YouTube video where someone complained how slick their handle was when it got wet. I dug in the water last night and this handle was not slick at all. I use dive gloves when I detect so that may be why I wasn't having an issue with slickness. One last tip, when I was putting the handle on my scoop, I couldn't decide if the spring button that holds the two parts together(in the middle of the pole) should face forward or backward. I decided to have it face backward. This was very helpful last night when I was digging in the dark in the water because I could tell which way my scoop was oriented. Finally, because the scoop is in two pieces, you can easily travel with your scoop, it will fit in a larger suite case. I highly recommend this handle for your sand scoop.

Fine lightweight handle.
Nice. Light. STRONG. Glad I finally replaced by heavy wooden handle.

CLG CF scoop one piece scoop handle
There is a through hole in the shaft. I had to drill a hole in my scoop tube opposite the existing screw hole to allow the bolt and nut to be used. I also needed a couple turns of electrical tape to make the shaft tight. Alls well and seems good after about 5 hours in the water. I would recommend as long as the OD is close to your scoop receptacle.

Expensive but nice
I use this handle with a 11x7 CKG sand scoop. It is expensive and I think it is worth it. Most of the metal handles are either really thin (bend easily) or weigh a ton. If you are metal detecting, the carbon fiber is nice instead of having to worry about your metal handle waving around giving false readings on the detector. I was worried about wiggliness of the 2 piece handle but it feels VERY solid. Easy to break down for travel too.Pretty handle, works well. Recommended if it fits your budget.

Light weight for sure
Ok only 2 days on this but it is light. I did modify this by going to the hardware store and buying a 7/8 wooden dowel and inserting it into the lower half. I now for sure I would snap this without that reinforcement. This add very little extra weight and I am sure this greatly improved the strength at the joint to where the carbon fiber met the metal scoop. I use a PI detector so I dig deep. I was making 3 foot holes and this handle had no issues with the demand. Other thing is I wrapped the entire pole with gorilla duct tape for gripe. I use on all my other poles so not sure if this good with put it. I did add the pull handle but ended up placing it at the top to help visually align my scoop when the water isn't clear. That is a must have for that reason. You wont know where that bucket is positioned.

Diameter right, bolt hole wrong
The pole fit my Chinese sand scoop perfectly on diameter, but the bolt hole is outiside of the sand scoop pole hole by about a half inch, I am going to use a pipe cutter to remove the required amount on the shaft so that it lines up with the scoop bolt hole. I am also going to glue a wood dow that is about a foot long to the inside of the carbon shaft where it bolts up to the scoop to make it stronger. Also I am going to do some minor modifications to the scoop itself to make it stronger.. The 2 piece CKG pole handle looks good, is very light and hopefully will last for years to come.

Study, Ultra light Shaft
This two piece CKG scoop is outstanding. The carbon fiber material makes the shaft ultra light. My only suggestion is to add a squeeze of silicone caulk where the two pieces join. This will keep the water out and it will help prevent the shaft from developing a wobble.
