Portable
Took this to an indoor range and it does what it needs to do. I was able to zero and get some good groups at 100.I purchased this because other rests are too bulky.I did not have any sliding problems as others have stated. As I continue to use this and find faults, I will update. Otherwise, if you are looking for something to easily throw in your range bag or rifle case, this does the job and I am satisfied with my purchase.

Does what it needs to do -- Packs flat - Takes up less space in a bag and easier to carry
I wanted a gun rest to use when sitting. This works very well. This one was purchased because it folds flat which makes it easier to pack in a bag and because it weights less that the gun rests that require a media to fill up.Others have used it and it gets the job done.Allen is a good brand and I have several other products that they produce. Reputably company that has been around for a long time (and hopefully will).Highly recommended!

Barely range-worthy...Don't see it lasting much longer
Have used this at the range 15 times now since I got it. Firing a Ruger 10-22 .22 LR, Smith & Wesson M&P 15 (AR-15), and a Remington 700P PSS .308. Most of the use came with the AR-15 and the 10-22. It likes to slide a lot and doesn't seem to stay "rigid" after a few shots. Have to re-velcro it after a couple groups. It gets a bit "wobbly". I don't see it lasting very long when using heavier rifles that have more recoil. It IS nice to have and is slim and fits in rifle case nicely....but it won't last long. This is more of a 2 1/2 star for me.

Allen Alpha gun rest
Well, I have numerous gun rest and this is the one I thought would be the most perfect but it’s not. It’s light compact and seems sturdy enough. I used this on my AR15 rifle at an indoor range. I have a quad rail and angle fore grip and this was too large for the opening on the rest. I could get the barrel in there but I didn’t want to use it. I knew then this would be a problem. It could deal with the vibration and concussion but would not sit properly. Oh wells, back to the foam rest which is light and can handle the different widths of various guns.

Good Compact Gun Rest
Sometimes you don't want to carry heavy sandbags or a full bench rest with you when you go out to the range. This is a great alternative and it will serve your purpose well.

Sometimes simple is best...
Simple and stable gun rest. Hardly takes up any room in my range bag, and barely adds any weight. Huge plus in my book. Get the large, as another reviewer has mentioned.

Folds flat and is easy to fit in range bag.
This works ok, It is one height so you have to adjust to it. It folds flat so it fits in my range bag so I always have it with me. I have other gun supports but they are big and I do not always haul them with me.

Good value for the money
It is easy to pack, and pretty good quality. I get pretty good value for the price and weight.
