I'm praying this doesn't fall apart because it's cool. People comment on it and tell me how cool it is. The gears moving give it a steampunk type look. It's in my office and I really love this clock!

The media could not be loaded. Let me save you a lot of time. This is the best clock you will ever buy! Sure, if you’re a clock connoisseur maybe you could argue otherwise, but I doubt it. I looked for weeks at hundreds of clocks, even ones costing more than $500, and aesthetically, this one beats them all. Obviously, the moving gears is the first thing you notice, but the overall look is stunning and very eye-catching. From the Roman numerals, to the glass cover to the rustic copper color. It’s got a very authentic look! I could not be more pleased with this clock! It’s a little tricky disassembling it and putting on the clock hands, but if you take your time and are careful, you’ll figure it out. Do be sure to NOT bend the clock hands as I did initially during the set up. Doing so will impede the hands from moving as the hour and second hand will come in contact. All in all, I cannot recommend highly enough. This clock is a show-stopper!!! Well done CLXEAST!!!James C. Coughlin

Worked fine right out of the box. Due to its weight, I did take extra precautions to be sure the mounting was not only secure, but easy to remove for battery changes.The workmanship and detailing are excellent. There was an oil sheen on the glass that did obscure the view of the clock hands somewhat. Once that was cleaned off, the glass surface just about disappears even under direct track lighting.The batteries. A single cell is plenty to run most any clock mechanism for a year. But even two AAs are way underpowered to last the same time. The gears in my clock ran for about two months. Even two C cells would only last for ten to twelve months or so, I would guess. Given the size and depth of the clock, surely they could have found space for a C-cell sized battery compartment.

I recently redid my living room and one thing about me - I like classic, classy, traditional with a modern twist - but I don't want my house to look like everyone else's. Finding a large clock that wasn't your typical boring wall clock was a challenge. Then I found this guy...this clock is absolutely gorgeous. It's large, easy to read, and keeps an accurate time.This was a little on the more expensive end when I purchased it (about 6 months ago) - I think I paid around $200, but it was worth every penny. The number of compliments people give me on the clock and they are always so surprised to see the gears moving.The gears are powered separately from the time. There are 2cbatteries compartments on the back - one is for the gears and the other is for the clock.I've had to replace the batteries for the gears once since getting the clock (and to be fair I don't think I used new batteries the first time.)This clock is the perfect blend of style, artwork, and we'll being a clock.Functionality is great - the only thing I could say was a "con" is that it is a bit big/heavy so you need to be careful when putting on or taking it off the wall.

I don't often write reviews....but I thought it would be nice to know before buying. First, if you scroll towards the bottom of the product page, it says easy to install - "Easy To InstallKeyhole hanger is easy to install by the hook and the hanging hole on the back of the clock". There is no hook provided. I thought it was a mistake, so I requested a replacement. The replacement didn't have one either. Before buying something to hang the clock, I decided to set it up per the instructions to make sure it worked properly. The second-hand keeps falling. That is not cool. This time asking for a refund. Not worth the hassle.
