Why is there screws in it ?!

You have to contact the manufacturer for this! I never had any problems with the screws. No rust etc.

Does the spout leak when tipped upside down?

Yes. They need to know to hold it like a straw cup. Mine lasted a week and was binned. The Nuby sport cap is a lot better

Is this a free flow straw or does it have a valve? Thanks.

It has a valve which works for about 2 weeks. It then starts to leak.

Is it easy for a 2 year old to open?

My 2 year old can open it but at first required two hands!

These cups are so good and my grandson loves them , he carries them around like he such a cool dude( which he is of course) the design is bright, vibrant ,colourful , easy to use , the perfect size ,function as they should ,they are sturdy and easy to hold. so if your looking for a couple cups then these would be a great option to add to your cup cupboard.
