Wicked Conjuring (Claimed by Gargoyles Book 1)

I was certain that I would love Sarah Piper’s new gargoyles series for one main reason – I love her writing! Whatever paranormal beings she writes about, you are guaranteed to find incredible world building, intriguing characters, a strong and feisty female heroine, super hot and swoony guys (gargoyles in this instance and also plural in this instance), next level steam, non-stop action, suspense that grabs you and won’t let go, and even some snarky banter mixed in for good measure. Wicked Conjuring is no different. It has it all!We meet Westlyn, a witch who has no magic of her own, on her wedding day. In order to pay his gambling debt, her father has made a deal for her to marry the son of the Archmage of Manhattan. He reveals his true evil nature at the very last moment and she narrowly escapes. Westlyn may feel rejected and unwanted, but she stands up for herself when it really counts – and this is when it counts! As she runs from the wedding, she is rescued by Draegan, a mysterious man who brings her to his estate in the Catskills that he shares with his friends Jude, Augustine and Rook. She is shocked to learn that a curse has changed them from mortal men into immortal gargoyles. The Archmage himself has acquired the codex that contains a rare Spell of Unmaking and represents hope for them to return to their mortal forms. While they conspire to steal the codex, they also become Westlyn’s fierce protectors as the Archmage is on the hunt for her.Each gargoyle is unique (and hot!!). Drae is the boss who rules with an iron fist and seems to have no patience for her. Jude is the ruthless psychopath who has had a thing for her long before the wedding. Augustine is the charming playboy who likes to cook for her. Rook is the nerdy, super hot spymaster and ace hacker who shares his research with her. You will love each one and be glad that it’s a reverse harem so that Westlyn (or you) don’t have to choose between them. The steamy scenes are incredibly hot, with Jude getting most of the action in this story. This first book lays the groundwork and draws you in to the mystery of their pasts and the suspense for what lies ahead. I know we’re in for a wild ride and I can’t wait!The stellar narration by Vanessa Edwin, Shane East, Aaron Shedlock and Aiden Snow is wonderful and truly the best way to experience this fantastic story. Each one is perfect in their role, or two roles for Shane as he portrays both Drae and Jude, but with completely different British accents. They each bring to life the unique personalities of their characters and make their fear, charm, wit, strength, rage and lust so powerfully evident. I’m a huge fan of Shane East so I have to point out that the way Jude goes from unhinged to sweet and tender in a matter of minutes is just masterful. And all of the whispery growls throughout are not to be missed. Listening is a must!!

Enter Drae (the one in charge,  Daddy Drae), but also Jude (Naughty & dangerous), Auggie (the resident Chef) and Rook (the Nerdy Hacker). Four mortal men who were cursed and turned into immortal Gargoyles. The guys are trying to find out how to end their curse as well as helping West with the whole doomed wedding thing. Man, her father and stepmother made me so mad!!What a ride! This book is good for multiple reads and listens. So smokin' hot! I mean, every time Jude says, "such a good girl, " I melt. I love all of the Gargoyles and Westlyn, but I think I wanna keep Jude. What a way to end the story! I really didn't want it to end. So much so that I listened a few times!Brilliant casting with the narrators! Vanessa Edwin was amazing as always as Westlyn and Eloise, the beastly stepmother. Two completely different characters, and she performs them with ease! Then you have Aiden Snow as Augustine/Auggie, Aaron Shedlock as Rook and Shane East as Draegon & Jude. Every single one of them is perfect for their characters. I highly recommend this book and if you're so inclined, the audiobook version is my pick as you really get more of the the impact of the story that Sarah Piper wrote when it's performed by 4 extremely talented narrators.

This was an interesting start to a new series. There were many uniques twist and turns. I just want more backstory on the characters. Hopefully, the next book will give us that.

Wicked Conjuring is so freaking good. Sarah Piper has a way of getting you invested from the first chapter.West is a runaway bride who is saved by 4 sinfully seductive Gargoyles. Jude is the bad boy you can't help but fall for. Augustine is the charmer who can make me waffles any day. Rook is the sweet geek with a heart of gold. Daddy Drae is the fearless leader who's got the BDE down. Book 1 sets up the characters and storyline for the rest of the series. It kept my interest from start to finish. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!I pre-ordered the audiobook. Vanessa Edwin is a queen. I love every performance from her. Shane East voices Jude and Drae, and whew. There's no comparison when it comes to spicy scenes. He's the best. Aaron Shedlock voices Rook, and I don't know why it's taken me this long to listen to his narrations. He's a great performer. Aiden Snow voices Auggie, and a new voice for me. I can hear why all the ladies love him.

Once I saw the description of this book and a sneak peek I knew I had to read it, and I was not disappointed. This is a first for me with this author but I will definitely be reading more. This book opens and made me fall in love with Jude almost instantly. He is crazy, quirky, and British (win). Westyn is so funny and I love her behavior. I can’t wait to learn more about all the gargoyles and what is to come for their story.

I can’t wait for book 2! this was paced really well, the plot was strong, and I enjoyed all their personalities. I look forward to see them all develop more as characters. i love how the story was developing too, I was becoming more and more intrigued as time went on. that cliffhanger has me eager to read the next!

Wow! Read in less then a day because I couldnt put it down. Gargs was a fav of mine in Sarah Pipers Blood & Magick series and she did NOT disappoint with this series of sexy, protective, and possessive gargoyles. The spice and plot are on point. HIGHLY recommend. sarah piper slays again. Cannot wait for book 2!

Well Sarah did it again. It has become clear she is incapable of writing a book one can put down once started.I am fully here for this next adventure and it seems I now have a new gargoyle fantasy.Sarah what have you done!!! Ha, Love it!!!

This book was amazing the sex scenes are so hot the love story blooming is adorable. I love all the guys and I can't wait for West to come into her self and be who she was born to be. So excited for book two. 100% recommend
