Time and Life Saver
I recently used these to install an iDataStart in my Subaru Outback. These made the whole process so much simpler. I know taps would’ve been better but I didn’t realize I didn’t have any of them until I had started the process. It’s been a week now and everything is working perfectly. These are much better than crimping wires and wearing out your hands.

Excellent, But.
I was a bit leery about these connectors since they are not CSA or UL approved and they cost one quarter of what Wago connectors do (which are made in Germany and are approved). However, I have used the Delgada connectors for two jobs and they seem to be far superior to the twist-on connectors I have been using for decades. I used a spring scale to measure the force required to pull a wire out of the connector and it took 25 lbs. Since the wire can rotate freely when it is connected, it makes it very easy to arrange the wires neatly in a box. The connectors are especially good for connecting stranded to solid wires, where you can never be sure that a twist-on connector is making a secure connection. Obviously no electrician would use unapproved connectors, but for the home handyman, the Delgada connectors are a huge improvement over traditional connectors. However, you should aware that a wire can be easily removed from the connector if it is twisted while being pulled. If a wire is pulled without being twisted, it takes over 25 lbs. of force pull it out of the connector. However, the wire comes out with little force if the wire is rotated while it is pulled. This could be an issue when the wires joined by a connector are stuffed into a switch or junction box. You should verify that all wires in a connector are still fully inserted into the connector after they are positioned in the box. Note that Wago connectors, which cost 4 times more have exactly the same problem.
