These shelf brackets are very solid and make it fairly easy to mount shelves on a wall with no visible support. In other words words, “floating shelves.”For my project I made a double layer of 1/2” plywood with a 1/2” space between the two plywood boards. The rods projecting from these shelf brackets are 1/2” in diameter so it was easy to slide the shelves onto the rods after mounting the brackets to the wall. I bought pre-primed pine boards to finish off the outer edges of the shelves.These brackets are excellent value and work very well.

The brackets themselves are quality. I would advise against using the plastic inserts for the fasteners tha t come in the package. I needed to cut open the back of the wall and install wooden blocking because more than half of the plastic inserts came loose or broke when the screws were installed and wasn’t comfortable that the shelf would hold weight. They should be fine with blocking installed. Just make sure you screw directly into the studs where possible.

I used this to fit a floating mantelpiece and it worked perfectly. The mantel is securely fixed, no flexing when leaned on. I would use this product again.

Had the worst time trying to install these and after hours of work they were saggy. We used a level (of course) to make sure it was level before putting the wood on the pegs but as soon as you put the wood on the metal bends under the weight of the wood shelf.PLEASE GIVE ME A REFUND. I can’t do anything with these now and have lost hours of my life plus 10 holes in my dry wall.

Beware— more complicated than anticipated!Sturdy frame, but will definitely require wall anchors since the poles are too close to out both into studs. I was able to position one hole in a stud but the remaining screws required anchors aka lots of big holes in my wall.Support poles are 6” long and I needed 3 different drill bits in order to drill far enough into my 2x8 boards. Also needed a drill press and power driver to get the job done. Using a 1/2” drill bit will be the perfect fit to keep everything snug.I also carved out the back of the shelf in order to allow the shelf to sit flush against the wall.Overall I’m very happy with the outcome, but these were not the quick, easy, project I was hoping for

We LOVE these brackets! W needed the brackets to be strong enough to hold dishes and other kitchen items and they are! A year later and they are solid without any wobble or sagging. The screw in the center of the square bracket is pointed. These are the screws the posts will attach to. They provide an easy template for drilling holes in the shelf. You install the square brackets on the wall 16" apart where the studs are, and then you can line the shelf up and tap it lightly with a hammer to mark the spot on the back of the shelf where you need to drill the holes. Perfect template with no other measuring required. After you mark your holes, install the posts and drill holes in your shelf. We used a dowel jig slightly smaller than they recommended to drill the holes - did not need a drill press. A friend of ours loves them so much she asked if we would put shelves just like it in her kitchen as a Christmas present. So this is our third order. Only complaint is that they sell them in 4 packs only. We needed 6 so we had to order more than we really wanted. Wish they would offer other size packages with a discount for larger packages. Otherwise, these are great!!
