Guitar Phone Mount
I had been searching for a cell phone holder that I could attach to my guitar. I return-tested several mounts before finally finding this one. The models sold strictly as a guitar mount are either awkward, intrusive or expensive. Other durable clamps were too heavy. As you can see in the photos, this is perfect to clamp to the headstock and face the display towards the guitarist.Very convenient for learning new songs, and for remembering words to sing when on-the-go.Since the gripper arms are split as 2 and 1 - I use the 2 on the bottom machineheads and the top 1 in between strings on the head-stock. The ball clamp is easy enough to rotate and angle to comfort. The mount is light enough so only the weight of the phone is noticeable. Thankfully, the phone sliding clips are strong enough you'd never really need the rubber loops on the corners (unless you rock that hard, bro). So it's easy to clip in/out or just tap the phone to change tabs or scroll lyrics. As long as it's positioned well and tight the tuning pegs aren't effected. It's quick enough to loosen the wingnut for the arms to tune if need-be.Of course, now I've got a capo clipped to the top and this on the side so this acoustic's all modded up haha And just maybe tablature is cheating, but why judge convenience?! Hopefully this creative off-label use for the bike phone mount is helpful to people who were searching for a guitar cell phone mount. Did i pepper in plenty of guitar lingo keywords ? Comments appreciated!UPDATE - middle ball socket screw snapped. ordering a new one less than a year later... thankfully the price has halved !

Gets the job done!
This is a pretty decent and sturdy mount. I've always been hesitant about the mounts that use the rubber bands but these seem to hold well. The side cradles are spring loaded so they add a little extra security. I've only done a couple of rides with the mount, overall about 30 miles of use and so far so good. This is perfect for road and light off road use but if you plan to do aggressive off road with a lot of jolting, it will become less desirable. The clamp holds well to the bars but where I have encountered slight issues is with the swivel part that connects to the phone. I have it pretty tight but big jolts make the phone shift and it tends to move from the original position. It hasn't really been a big deal since my phone has never fallen off, it just has to be repositioned afterwards. I may be able to get it even tighter with use of tool but it is plastic so too much torque may break it. At any rate, this is a good product for the price. Only time will tell how the durability of materials will be. I suspect the bands may begin to stretch out along with the springs losing tension but so far so good. Only time will tell the true story of durability.

Working great for 2+ years
This is the fourth bike mount that I've purchased and the one that has lasted the longest. It seems like there are a thousand of these to choose from and they all seem similar. Since it's holding a $1,000 phone, I don't want to be cheap. I just wanted good.I tried the Vibrelli https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B010OPQVUS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and snapped one of the straps. So, that's not going to work.I like the ones that have 6 points of contact - corners and side. This one has been a real trooper. I have a hybrid fitness bike (GT Transeo) and ride mostly on paved and gravel trails - nothing too crazy. But the phone is securely held by the bracket.Sometimes the bottom straps come off because I might bump it getting on or off. But the phone is still secure. (I usually notice because it will slide up an touch the volume down.) I have never had the phone fall out.I would buy this one again.

Design Appears Sturdy
I just received this, so I cannot comment on longevity. I can, however comment on initial build quality, which unlike other phone mounts I've tried, appears to be pretty decent. The clamp squeezes as tightly as needed around any size handlebar to properly secure this mount. This is possible because the bolt is metal and screws into an embedded metal nut. Unfortunately, the ball pivot nut is made of plastic with plastic threads. My kingdom for a metal reinforced ball pivot nut. Because the threads are plastic, you'll need to be careful just how far you tighten the pivot. And of course, it must be pretty tight to eliminate movement. The good news is that the plastic threads are relatively high TPI (threads per inch), which should make stripping less likely. The rubber straps are small and tight, giving this holder a firm grip on your phone. The entire holder takes up minimal room on your handlebars and can be re-positioned easily. I was able to get a very solid and secure mount of my iPhone 6 plus in no time.So far, so good. This does appear to be the droid you're looking for (works with iPhone too ;-)

even when tightened seems to move very easily, which I don't like
*Update* I got a new phone: galaxy S8+ and I have the otter box defender case and it still fits in this bike phone mount! The band's stretch quite a bit and the clamps on the sides expand even beyond my phone, so it'll hold a larger phone. The only thing is this phone is even heavier so it shifts during my ride even more. Can't tighten the swivel piece enough to stop the movement. It works for my Samsung Galaxy S6 with an otterbox case. The bands stretch far over the phone. It holds in place during the whole ride, I've never had it drop my phone. The swivel piece, even when tightened seems to move very easily, which I don't like, because it shifts around during my ride. I also don't like that my phone isn't protected from water, sometimes it gets splashed if I'm riding through a wet area. It's not really a fault of this product, I just need to pick a different product that will protect from moisture.
