Your legs will thank you for these thigh highs !
If you read this entire review, I would love to hear what you think and if you had any past experiences with compression socks/stockings, that way I can hear other people's thoughts from other fields of work. So leave me a message or an update.I want to state that these unisex stockings are actually made for everyone (male and female) that works standing up for extended periods of time no matter your field of work. Not just nurses but teachers, flight attendants, chefs, doctors, athletes, literally anyone who stands for a living. Listen theses are unisex stockings and yes both female and males nurse and even non nursing people should wear them. Nursing is hard and after just 10 years as working as an ICU / O.R. nurse ( yes I work in two different departments) my back and legs have taken a beating. Standing for hours on end. I love being a nurse but it has taken me a very long time to learn how to take care of my health and my legs. So now I want to pass on what I learned from my fellow nurses. Let me start off by saying they are made of excellent material ( tough and resistant) although I first said to my self they look a little weak to be used as a compression socking but I gave them a try, after tons and tons of peer pressure from my fellow O.R. nurses to give it a try. Ok I have been a runner all my life all thru high school and now as a nurse my legs mean everything. I started to notice that I started to develop small little spider veins down by both my inner ankles. I just thought this was a normal thing that happens until some of my nurses noticed my ankles and they quickly advised me that this could lead to varicose veins later on down. On the recommendation from all of my nurse work colleagues I decided to try the TruForm Compression Stockings Black XL a try. Am 5'10 170-175 LBS. Although thigh highs are definitely not my style not even in a million years , I will say this my legs don’t hurt and plus now I wear my nurse clogs ( I also learned the benefits of wearing clogs from other well experienced nurses) Of course I don’t wear them outside of work but then again I practically live at work and go visit my house occasionally ( LOL ). My feet and legs feel great after my shift (12 to 14 hours). Listen take it from me your health is more important than just dealing with the pain and leg restlessness. These thigh highs give me the right amount of compression (8mm-15mm) and they are thin enough that I can wear my Dansko and Calzuro clogs and my Troentrop clogs all day with no problems at all. These thigh highs with clogs are very widely used among almost all my nursing coworkers. I also wear another brand of compression stockings every once in a while just to test if TruForm is superior than the others and guess what it is !!! Great job TruFom for making such a wonderful product ! At the end of the day what is more important to you they way they look or your health and comfort of your legs ? Give these Absolute Support compression stockings a shot, at the end of your nursing career all you will have left is your health and your memories from nursing, your going to need your legs to be healthy. To all nurses "Be your best, do your best and stay in the best shape you can !After hearing, reading and talking it over with all my nurse / doctor coworkers I wanted to add this update concerning the fact that some people may get a rash. Not all my coworkers got a rash, some adapted just fine with no rash or irritation at all it all depends on your body. Yes both male and female surgeons and O.R. nurses wear them in the O.R. plus it helps keep you warm in the O.R. every O.R. nurse knows how cold it gets. This is for everyone that has used these TruForm sheer compression stockings or any other brand of compression stockings and got a rash because of the silicone dots on the top band, again not everyone will develop a rash. I also developed a rash but it was very light, some other nurses that I know had a more pronounced rash. However it does go away after a few days. when your skin adapts to wearing it unless your allergic to it. A medical professional or unless you know already can tell you if you have an allergy to it, so keep that in mind. I along with many of my coworkers have used some creams to help soothe the rash. Since the rash went away ( took me about 1 1/2 to 2 days for the rash to heal, some coworkers took up to 3 to 4 days). I have been using these stockings daily for almost 1 year and I have been rash / irritation free since that initial first rash. I and several other nurses have all used a bit of hydrocortisone cream on the rash but again every "body" is very different from everyone else. So DON'T use any cream or other therapy your not familiar with or has not been medically prescribed to you and always consult a medical professional to see what is best for your body. After a few days your legs (thigh area) will get used to wearing them all day. So just be aware that some people might develop a rash. One more thing, you need to learn how to put theses stockings on and you need to know where to put them on your leg (meaning were you need to position them ) so that they don't slip down. A lot of people complain that they slip down during the day but if you don't put them on right then you will definitely have issues wearing them. Test and learn where it feels the most comfortable to you and adjust your stockings during the day. It’s a bit of a learning curve because these thigh highs are not fashion only because the top band is made to say up unlike regular thigh high stockings that are for fashion they don’t grab on to your leg as hard and therefore don’t cause a rash or burn. Don't let that discourage you from wearing these or any other compression stockings. If you have any questions or tips leave me a message.

Satisfied customer
I have always disliked and avoided support hose, despite medical advice. I found prescription hose incredibly difficult to get on, and very uncomfortable. However, over the years I've developed increasing issues with veracious veins, and swollen ankles, finally leading to a blood clot in my R calf, blocked arteries, and lymphedema in my L leg. So, today, I have stents throughout the arteries of both legs, and basically, my legs are a mess. Even though I really ought to wear the highest level of compression, I compromised and purchased these. And I am so glad I did! They are very easy to get on, stay put, and look and feel good when I'm wearing them. And despite being the lowest level of compression, they really domake a difference; my ankles are less swollen, and my legs feel better. Highly recommended, especially for anyone with an aversion to support hose.

Surprised
Needed a pair of compression stocking but didn’t want a pair that looked like drug store stockings! These are soft and comfortable. The silcone band stays in place but tends to give me rash if I wear all day. They are not to dark and are definitely flattering under a skirt or dress

Buyer Beware!
I didn't pay attention to the previous customers who complained about the rash/burning that they received, and now I'm one of them. These were a good fit and comfortable until I realized that I was chemically burned by the silicone type material that keeps them from slipping. It has left me with scars that will not go away. If you're reading this, you've been warned. These pictures are after 6 hours of wear.

Shopper revised review
Good. Not to heavy. I can wear them all day. I ordered a pair of Large 8-15mm and was sent a pair of Medium 1 5- 20mm. I'm sending back the original pair and trying to reorder the size and strength I wanted.I received the size I needed and they work well. But you need to know 1) I have older pairs of these and they wear like iron. (2) After washing them 2 or 3 times, and I'm careful hand wash and lay flat to dry, they don't stay up.However I found garters and gater belts on Amazon that work well with these and depending on the occasion one or the other adds to the life of the stockings.

Light Compression, good quality
Had trouble putting on tighter compression stockings. These were easy to put on and look nice. They stay up all day. Attractive lacey top. Excellent quality. Hand washed, hung to dry. Ready to wear by morning.

Not staying up
My wife has bought a lot of these. All of the higher strength ones are a struggle to get on and the toes are not compressed so you end up with fat toes! Lately, she just gets the minimum strength pairs. After several washes they don’t stay up any more (she is skinny) lately, even just out of the package she has had trouble with them falling to her ankles.
