Q: does this keep dogs from biting their feet?

We bought this cone (Small 12.5 cm) for our miniature poodle puppy who weighs 6 pounds. It was not long enough to prevent him from biting his feet. We then purchased the "Small-Long" size of the Comfy Collar which was long enough. However, I do not recommend the Comfy Collar design because of the frightening velcro sounds, claustrophobic sides collapsing against the ears, and fabric picking up muck in the yard that is not as easy to clean as the plastic cone models.

Q: My dog had ear surgery, will this work in keeping him from scratching or rubbing the sutures inside his ear as the cone is flexible?

As long as you buy one large enough to cover his face well and past his nose, so he can't get past it into his ear area you should be good. It does bend, but mostly just enough to flatten it when they lay down and such. Also, since his ears were worked on, the fabric would be nicer than the plastic, as I think the sound issues and echoes the plastic caused when they bump into things is what bothered my dog the most about traditional plastic cones. If they bump a corner in this it just rubs against the corner, rather than abruptly jarring them sideways.

Medium. I bought medium for my Bichon Frise (14 lbs.) He managed to get out the collar. Small was a perfect fit. Corgis are slightly bigger, so medium will be a fit.

I used a small size for a 15-16 lb. Cat. Perhaps, the Xtra small size would be better for your puppy. As I and others have noted, the cone works in conjunction with a collar. You need to have a collar that fits the puppy. Also, as I noted, you can remove the cone's inserts and bend the cone backwards in order to shorten the cone's back to front length.

La collerette plastique du vétérinaire déranger beaucoup mon chien, surtout pour se coucher, celle ci est niquel.Pris en taille Médium pour mon bouledogue français et ça correspond très bien (légèrement trop long) mais pas dérangeant, il arrive à boire et attraper ses jouets.Produit de très bonne qualité, le velcro est résistant

The Best Dog Cone!

This is by far the absolute best cone for my dog, and worth every penny! The cone is made of soft cushioned material that is easily wiped clean, and the bonus is light reflective trim, great for night time walks. I have a large East-European Shepherd with a long reaching snout that can manage to over reach other cone lengths. This cone is fantastic as it is longer than my dog's snout reach, so he's not able to lick or chew at wound site. It is sturdy and does not crack or shatter like plastic cones, plus it is soft and comfy like a pillow to lie down on, and does not rub or irritate his neck. Also, this cone does not damage your wall paint or furniture, like the hard plastic cones, when your pet clumsily bumps something when playing or turning around. We attached it's elastic loops to his collar which make it really easy for us to put on and take off when we want. You don't need to remove it during mealtime, but we do because he's a tad messy eater, but he looks forward to getting his cone back on, its like a special collar pillow and he likes wearing it! *he really disliked wearing the hard plastic cones.
