YOU NEED TO RETRO FIT.. BUT IT WILL WORK !!
PLEASE READ...I MADE IT WORK...Product did NOT work at first but after some ingenious thinking it now works great !!!! ONLY use the top silver screw cap of the insert (the bottom will not allow the coffee flow so do not use). Then, take a USED Nespresso coffee capsule & cut the top foil off, going around rim with an exacto knife.(There are computer markings under the lip of the capsule that the machine reads, the markings on these gold ones that comes with this stainless insert this not readable by the machine) . Fill with you own coffee & place the stainless lid on top. So you will have a used Nespresso foil pod which you cut the top off--your ground coffee inside--just place the silver top on...Place pod in machine & WALLAH!!!! You can continue to use the same used Aluminum Capsule that you cut the foil off for a long time....

Does not work as described
The item cost is thirty seven dollars for this device and the cups to go under it. You would think the item would function. This is not true the item needs to be disassembled and only the top half portion used with a real Nespresso pod cut open and the coffee loaded into this( reasoning , the cups it comes with have incorrect bar codes for the sizing and an error light appears) second the stainless steel bottom portion is dimensionally much smaller and a completely different interior design than the nespresso pod and coffee will not flow properly out of the pod. All in all only one piece of this set is usable. And even at this it does not work well as the top of the reusable pod gets stuck in the top of the aluminum pod and you must tap it on the counter to remove it creating a large mess. Overall terrible design and functionality.

Brews a satisfying strong cup in my Next machine
This is one of two devices I've tried to cut down on the price of a cup, and the only one that works in my Vertuo Next model machine (mine: DeLonghi ENV120).As an engineer: I think that if you have any model that uses the Vertuo style capsules, it's worth a try. But I only conjecture!I have used both the grounds that were in an existing capsule (opened an unused one and used the fresh grounds), and have also used my grocery store espresso grind from their grinding machine. Both turned out equivalent. The capacity is perhaps two-thirds a standard 230 ml capsule/pod, but since the supplied capsule "ranges" has it's own barcode (3 groups each with its own barcode), I adjusted the water amount to be a bit less for these capsules. The result was what I considered to be an equivalent strength and quality of the Nespresso capsule. Also the tamper that is included allows you to concentrate the grind a bit more than what the Nespresso capsule provides in density.I've seen comments that it's difficult to screw shut -- I found that if I simply reverse-screw a half turn that the cap seats properly and is no problem to screw shut. The used capsule is quite hot if you try to reuse it immediately -- but just run it under cold water for a second!I plan to get 2 more of these so that we're all set for our 3 cup morning binge before I go to bed.

Learning curve, and I’m oblivious…
So, I love this thing. I first didn’t realize the pods were different sizes, made an 8oz, and it obviously was the wrong size. Made another, with the right cup and wow! I absolutely love it! The grind of the coffee is important when putting it in the stainless steel base. I honestly hated the ideas of pods for a long time, but just recently purchased the nespresso vertuo next. I’m honestly impressed with this pod, and it definitely is easy to use and clean.

Product needs to be redesigned and further tested before production.
The idea is great, but the product needs to be redesigned a bit. And needs to be tested further before production and sales. The product failed when used on my vertue next machine. For starter, the punch hole (middle hole) needs to be revisited. And the side tiny holes needs to be widened a bit.Picture attached comparing the original pods with the product.

Don’t buy
Too heavy, it overheats your Nespresso machine. Do not buy.

Tried a lot
The holes won't allow enough flow. I drilled them bigger.Figured out when you compact the coffee it needs a flow hole in the center to work slightly better. It seems like a stainless mesh filter would work better

Overheated the machine
This unit was hard to unscrew and open. Every time I used it the machine would give me the overheat message and I had to unplug it to clear the code as it locked up the machine. I gave it 2 stars since it did make a nice cup of coffee.
