Powerful Numbing Relief — Works Fast, Tastes Strong! I purchased Anbesol Maximum Strength for my 13-year-old son, who has dealt with painful canker sores for as long as I can remember. I get them occasionally myself, so I know exactly how intense and frustrating that pain can be — especially when the sore is on the inside of the lip, cheek, or right along the gums where it gets irritated every time you talk, eat, or accidentally bite down near it. We decided to give Anbesol Maximum Strength a try because we needed something strong, fast, and reliable for those moments when the pain becomes unbearable. And to its credit, this product really does deliver on the numbing effect. The moment you apply it, you feel a strong tingling and cooling sensation, and within seconds the area goes noticeably numb. For my son, it means he can actually eat without wincing, and for me, it’s a relief to know he’s getting a break from the constant discomfort. Like most benzocaine-based gels, Anbesol doesn’t necessarily speed up the healing process — at least not in our experience — but when it comes to immediate pain relief, it absolutely does its job. It’s strong, powerful, and dependable. Now, fair warning: the taste is not pleasant. My son describes it as a very strong, almost chemical flavor that hits you right away. It’s definitely not something you’d ever want to taste on purpose. Seems to be a new formula (dark red) and is thinner. Works very well. It deadens a larger area of the mouth, but that’s OK. Pleased with quicker results.

First off, I struggle with tooth pain and issues; I have some medical issues that cause me some tooth issues, and it's tough. I get into see the dentist as much as I'm financially able to (as most people know, dental coverage isn't always the best or sufficient). 🙁 Needless to say; time to time, I need something that will help with a tooth pain or ache. I have found that the 'Anbesol' brand works well for me. I've tried their solution (that came in a bottle); however, this maximum strength oral pain relief gel is (personally) more convenient for me to use. This product came in good condition; was on a card, and sealed by plastic. The tube itself is closed (under the lid), and must be snipped off by scissors. I always appreciate when products add protective measures-especially for something like this. This gel is red in color, and has a thick consistency; it adheres easily to the areas that it's applied to, and a little goes a long way. I'm very pleased that this gel provides quick relief of tooth aches and pains, and lasts quite a long while. This really is my go-to product to use when dealing with oral pains, and it's easy to take along with me (whether in my purse or pocket). I think this is a great oral/tooth pain reliever, and this is my third time purchasing this product. I like to keep it on hand for when I experience dental issues and pains, and am waiting to get into the dentist. I highly recommend this product, and feel it's a good value-especially with its quality and longevity.

Definitely soothed pain on swollen gums

I get cheek bites because of my wisdom tooth at least twice a year and this helps a lot to reduce the got awful pain. I only wish it lasted longer !! The good thing is the result is immediate upon application but it only last for like 10 minutes or so depends on the amount you apply could be more . Still better than nothing ! Without this I wouldnt be able to even take a single bite of food or sip of a drink .
