Can I ever get alone with Cecilia? And most of all can I keep Andrew off of my mind and respect that he is a married man? Review: Twists, Suspense, and Unputdownable Drama - Nina Winchester’s elegant home hides dangerous secrets, and when a young woman takes a job as the housemaid, she discovers just how twisted the family truly is. Every day brings small deceptions, subtle power plays, and the constant question: who’s really in control? This book had been sitting on my TBR for far too long, but with the movie out, I finally picked it up and I wasn’t disappointed. As expected from Freida McFadden, it’s full of suspense, tension, and twists that keep you turning pages. I guessed the big twist, but the journey to get there was gripping and thoroughly enjoyable. A must-read for fans of domestic suspense and psychological thrillers.

Incredible twist ending!
What a read! I couldn’t put it down. It took me 5 days to complete this book, probably could have read it in a day if I didn’t have things like work or kids. I’m new to Ms. McFaddens books and I have to say I love how she writes. Keeps me engaged. I have read the other two books and they’re just as good. The first one is the best in my opinion. I am now exploring her other books. This author is really great at twist endings!

A NEW FAN !
For many years, I read nothing but non-fiction. I wanted to learn something. Something that I could apply to my life, that would improve it, make it better. Knowledge that would transform my personality. Transform me into a happier person. I wasn't interested in just more distraction. Lately, though, I've opened my mind to venture into works of fiction. In my search to find the right book, I noticed that this author had many six-digit, positive reviews. This one, The Housemaid, had the highest review count. I purchased the paperback copy. I know that this may seem strange to some, but there is just this sense of satisfaction when you see a book on your shelves, that you began and finished. I really enjoyed this story. It seemed plausible. Something that could really happen. I loved that in the beginning; I fell under the impression that a certain character was the flawed one, the dysfunctional one, the one who was bat crazy. She made me angry, because in real life, there are certainly people like that. Then, as the story progressed, I realized that this person, whom I thought was loco, was really highly intelligent. She had masterminded the entire tangle. There is a little bit of romance, also, that had me rooting for the two people who were attracted to each other. I truly enjoyed the twists and turns, and being surprised when things turned out to be the opposite of what I was led to believe. The ending was satisfying, and I enjoyed the book so much that I immediately ordered another from this author. I also enjoyed that one so much that I finished it in three sitting. Two with The Housemaid. I highly recommend any book that this author has written. She certainly rekindled my love of reading!

Enjoyable, low effort read
It's not the most elegant writing, but it's the plot twists that kept me guessing until the end, and for which I give five stars. I also wanted to read it because I wanted to keep myself under control until the movie streams and keep myself from spending $20 for a movie. This book was $10 and now I'll just patiently wait until whenever it's close to being free to see the movie. Curiosity has been satiated. I just can't spend that much money for one movie rental, when I already have a streaming bill.

Twists and turns, when you think you know what is coming next…
This book reminded me of some others I have read in the past, little elements here and there. I thought I had it figured out a few times, and while some guesses were dead on, there were still some surprises in there. Fast read, hooked right off the bat, I read this book in about 8 hours total, short chapters, easy characters. Intrigued for the second book, hoping it doesn’t fizzle or become repetitive.

Great Thriller
The book is engaging from the beginning. You want to know the why behind the strange things occurring. There is a twist that I wasn't expecting but thoroughly enjoyed. I don't want to say too much or I will ruin it for someone that hasn't read it yet. I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this story about Mille, a housemaid who struggles to find work due to her criminal record. Millie meets Nina who hires her as a housemaid, but instantly she struggles with her new employer's changing moods. She knows more is going on in the household; all the while falling for Nina's husband, Andrew but not getting along with his daughter, Cecilia. Millie meets Enzo, the family's gardener who acts strangely and warns her about the family, telling her to be careful and that more is going on. She is confused and dislikes Nina who treats her badly, finding a way to resolve the strange incidences. What I loved about this story was the action-filled drama, suspense, twists and turns, and brilliant, deep characters. I so recommend this first book in this series. Loved it.

Perfectly delivered! - paperback cover For me, it’s a solid 4.5 stars! I loved the ease of reading, particularly how Freida skips lengthy descriptions and dives straight into the story, maintaining a constant sense of suspense. Each page kept me eager for more, helped by the short, concise chapters. However, I couldn’t give it a full 5 stars because, while the ending was satisfying and the plot overall was quite unexpected, there were a few moments where I could predict what was coming. These subtle instances left me feeling a bit unsurprised, which I find disappointing in thrillers. Despite this, it was an engaging and enjoyable read!
