La Crosse Technology308-148 Wireless Temperature Station with Tri-Color LCD

Purchased this as an addition to other LaCrosse temp displays that I already have. It picked-up the outdoor sensor I already have which is great. Unit is small and doesn't require a power cable, so it was easy to mount on the wall with a small nail. Better than having a power cable visible. Does the job, temp and humidity indoor and outdoor as well as date and time. No backlight so won't be readable in the dark, but that works for me as I don't want the light visible at night anyway. I don't need to see the temp outside when I have all the lights off... Good value for the money.

Replaced a 12-year model, which shows the quality. The new one is a two-step install process. Very accurate and responsive to temp and humidity changes. I recommend.

The only thing to add is that the display is hard to read in anything less than bright light.A backlight that could be activated with a tap would be an excellent addition

Easy to set up...I installed the temp sensor in our farms well pump house. I want to monitor the temp in the wellhouse and to ensure the heater is coming on at designated temps. It works great and looks good too.. i would recommend.

More attractive than the usual assortment of products that offers the same temperature information. Even the outside sensor is nicer than the other choices out there. It's easy to set up and use. Does not come with any batteries and both this inside unit and the outside sensor takes 2 AAA batteries.

So simple to use out of the package. Even when placed next to the external sensor, main display had temperature & humidity values matched to inside vs outside.

For some reason, the sensor goes though batteries like mad. They needed replacing about every month. I even bought new batteries, considering the possibility that the ones I had were bad. Nope, it wasn't the batteries. La Crosse customer service was great and sent me a new sensor. Nope, the new sensor eats batteries too. La Crosse stepped up to the plate again and sent me a new sensor and base unit. Nope, batteries still don't last. I spoke to a friend who bought the same model and she asked how long my batteries last. "Mine don't to seem to last very long" she told me. That was all I needed to hear. This thing is headed for the e-cycle bin. My recommendation is to consider another make/model.

Very hard to read needs a backlight.
