Best bang for your lighting buck!
This is 100% a five-star value for anyone on a budget (or even if you're not) and looking for a fairly small but powerful video light. I purchased this along with the less powerful 60w HS60B light from Neewer in search of a solid light that would meet my needs - something that would work well in a studio/home office but able to be taken in the field (portable, support for battery power). I have a couple of Raleno panel lights already and have been really satisfied with them, so when I saw this 85w light for only $80 (same as the 60w Neewer), I had to give it a try.I've not used it extensively yet, so I can't comment too much on durabilty, but I will say that it seems well-built - much better than the less powerful but equally priced Neewer light. It is a bi-color light, which is fantastic for dialing in the right temperature, and from most of what I've read, color accuracy with this is quite good. The power of this light absolutely blew me away. I wasn't expecting 85w to be this bright. With the included reflector, I was able to very noticeably overcome ambient daylight from multiple windows at mid-day and illuminate a wall 30' away from me. I had doubts about how good the dimmer is, but it seemed to offer smooth transitions from 0-100% even at the < 10% range, which is where I see most lights change very little (at this range, increment changes of just 1% could be easily detected). This light has a Bowens mount, which really enhances its usability with so many modifiers to choose from. Support for battery power (batteries not included, and lights operate at a max of 65%) along with an included remote make this an almost complete package. The one thing lacking, which isn't huge, but is a factor, is the inclusion of a storage/carrying case. Any light designed to be portable begs for a case, and a cheap one could be provided without adding much cost. The absence of a case aside, I love almost everything about this light, especially for well under $100, which is why I face a real conundrum. I like this light so much that I don't want to return it! I do both video and photo work, and the power of this light has me rethinking my use of lighting for outdoor portrait shoots. Especially with the included reflector, this thing has the power to be used outdoors and in. All this said, I think I'm going to be sending this light back, not because I don't want to keep it and use it (I really do!), but because (1) it is probably more light than I actually need in most cases, and (2) the Neewer HS60B is much more portable and includes a compact carrying case. If I were buying primarily for studio use, I would undoubtedly stick with this - and would likely be wanting to shell out a few dollars for another one. I'm going to have to sleep on it before I actually process the return on this.

Built well, CHEAP, light, battery-friendly... No Bi-Color :(
These are an absolute home run. Built well, come with a COB cover, and a remote, and are hard to beat. Really. After using them for a project the only thing I wish was different was that they were bi-color. Daylight is great but versatility is better, but then please observe the following money notes:These are $X dollars. The next up would be the battery-friendly GVM 80w bicolor, which has a really cr*p plastic housing, has a terrible tilt mechanism, does not come with a COB cover (HOW?!?) and no remote. That model is usually $2X dollars, and sometimes rarely is on sale for $1.5X.So, I'll take these, and then I'll use my big 300W bicolors when I need to.

Continues to be a great light! Lasts longer than other lights on battery!
I got this for video work and because of having to travel on a plane to the location. I have been testing this out with a Bowens mount soft box, which worked very well. Light is consistent and white. It also produces a lot of adjustable light! It is much better than some my 20 year old lights which have glass tubes, which this is replacing. Cant take that on the plane! I also have LED light panels and have worked with strobes and other older video lights.I have been testing out the battery use of the RaLeno before getting to the location and not knowing if I can run an extension cord. With 2 Powerextra NP960 batteries with 8800mah each I was impressed! On the battery, the light automatically maxes out at 65%. At full 65% battery power the lights lasted for 1 hour and 40 minutes before they started flashing because of low power. At half power of 32% the light lasted 3 hours and 36 minutes before the light started flashing. At 10% power the light lasted 11 hours and 20 minute before the light just went out! On the higher powers particularly it seemed like the RaLeno battery level gauge went down slowly before dropping quickly at the end.So far it seems like a great light. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over time! Obviously my other lights have lasted a long time! Also with a cheap light I am not so concerned about if the micro vibrations of the plane will wreck it. I have had that happen with computers.Update! This light still does well after almost a year. I also got the newer version with the remote. Sadly the remote does not work with the first light. The light quality is great and even! Just used them on a wedding shoot and set them low 20-30% to help light the dance floor. We did not turn them off and the batteries lasted till the end of our time there! I will be buying more!Update-I still really like the lights and used them on another wedding. During the last wedding the remote malfunctioned causing the light to go into a flash mode. After that the remote didnt connect. Important note to reconnect I found that holding the plus & minus symbols till the remote flashes re-synced the light! So I will buy some more units for the next wedding!

Content creators & Filmmakers rejoice!
Whether you do content creation or are just starting out your filmmaking career, this is the best bang for the buck you can get for COB video light. I have a full review on my youtube (daniel's tech studio), but this is a tremendously bright light for less than 100 bucks.Pros:Extremely brightLove the remote it comes with (much better than an app)Has a standard bowens mount to put softboxes and other mountsCan run off of batteriesCons:Only goes up to 65% brightness on battery power (which is still bright)It's only 5600k color temp. No other options (that's why it's so cheap)Overall, I highly recommend this for anyone starting out or doing any kind of content creation. Yes it only does 5600k color temp but if you want anything as bright as this with more color temps, you're gonna pay another $50 minimum. You can use this as a permenant light in your studio setup like I do. It's perfect. The best light for the price. Highly recommend it.
