Yummy and vegan friendly!
Delicious soup full of flavor and veggies! Love the classic soup flavor, because it’s not too boring. Easy to prepare in the microwave or stovetop. Nice texture- not too thick or too thin. Excellent value for money!

Chili
It’s not a bad soup, but it had a lot of cumin and was a bit spicy, and tasted chili. I was expecting (and in the mood for) something more neutral like a regular lentil soup with an onion/celery/carrot base. Already had fresh baked French bread and butter and a spring salad ready to eat with it. This soup would’ve gone much better with cheddar on top, tortilla chips and a different type side salad. As I said, it’s not a bad soup, but if I am in the mood for chilli, then I might as well buy vegetarian chilli.

One of the better canned soups
This is a very decent canned soup, and it's about as close to homemade as you'll get in a can. It's a bit pricey, so I don't buy it as much as I'd like, but I do recommend it.

Whew. Too spicy.
There should be some indication on the label that this soup is very spicy. It's a good soup for those who can tolerate hot spice, which isn't me. It hurt my stomach, and upset my intestines. Strong cumin flavor, which is also not something I enjoy, but you will, if you love cumin. So, reasonably good soup, WAY too spicy, too much cumin. Some people will love it, others, be aware.

Top flavor for me…. Check out how I fixed it.
Great flavor. Loved that its other ingredients don’t overwhelm the lentil flavor. I simmered it down to make the soup a bit thicker and put a scoop of sticky rice in the center of the bow then the soup on top. Made a great quick dinner for me and another. We both thankfully enjoyed it. ( note to self… you can buy small portions of sticky white rice ready in microwaveable bowls in a minute and a half… right here on Amazon!!)

Note On Taste
The soup, presented in a copper pot on the stove in photo, exemplifies the robustness of this superb dish. The product was obviously in a tomato base, which was hearty and tasty, but anticipated to be mild flavor. This soup had a spicy kick from roasted red peppers and chili ingredients, which I had not read on the label prior to purchasing.

Beware, does not taste like lentil soup…
I love Pacific butternut squash soup, so I imagined this soup would be wonderful, being organic. Unfortunately, it was kind of bland for my taste, until the very end with a hint of chili pepper. However, the taste of lentils were non-discernible. The soup did not have many vegetables, but had too many red bell peppers (which I dislike for the overpowering smell). It also seemed to need salt. I know this is my opinion, and it is all a matter of individual taste, but I would not recommend this soup as a lentil soup, more as a vegetable soup with lentils because of the overwhelming effect of the other ingredients. This soup is relatively expensive, and lacks “yumminess”. I painstakingly took out the numerous bell peppers, blended the soup, and still as a cream it tasted more of chili peppers than lentils. Sorry, not impressed.
