Very good for hydroponics
I've used many different kinds of seed pods. These are very similar to root riot pods but are square. They fit the Lettuce Grow stands grow cups about the same as root riot pods. They are a little lose in the Lettuce Grow cups but still work fine. They work well in the Aero Garden and small hydroponic stands, as long as I don't use the grow cups. I like that I can grow seeds in my Aero Garden in these pods and transfer the seedlings into my bigger hydroponic stands when the plants are larger. The seeds seam to have no trouble germinating in these pods. They seam to reduce algae a little better than root riot pods. I don't have mold issues since I use HOCI in my hydroponics and it kills all mold. So I can't say they are better or worse at mold. But don't think they be worse since they are better at algae. I do like that they are organic since root riot, I been told has heavy metals in it. Over all I would purchase these over any similar pods like root riot because they are a little better.

Organi Plugs are the best
Hey there! So, I wanted to share with you my latest hydroponic gardening discovery of these amazing pods! I got them to use with our hydroponic tower and let me tell you, it's been a blast choosing and starting my own seeds with them. Ive tried Root Riot a few times, and had such bad luck I was off to the races to find something new, and oh boy these things blow them out of the water. Usually, we harvest about 2-4 plants every week for our salads, so we start around 12 seeds every 2-3 weeks. When we received the plugs, they were all moist and ready to use. Since we stagger their use over many weeks, we lay the new plugs out on a cookie rack and let them dry out completely before storing them. When it's time to start the seeds, we just rehydrate the needed number of plugs for a few minutes. The best part is that we haven't had any issues with molding or algae growth when working with the dehydrated plugs. They perform just as well as they do when they are new. (We did have some problems with black/brown mold and green algae type things when we tried Root Riot and some of the other cheaper knock offs.) Ive grown plenty of “tomatoes”, peppers, cucumbers, and flowers which were all transferred to outdoor grow facilities with well north of 90% success rate. Couldn’t be more stoked. When they say these things are optimized and aerated for superior lateral root growth, they are not kidding. Roots sprout through these things like crazy. The Root Riot ones seem overly compact, and the roots are thinner and break off super easily. I cant understand fully the internals that causing the difference, but I’m absolutely not going back. Love these things. To sum it up, we wouldn't be this successful if we were using inferior plugs. This is an awesome product and is perfectly suited to our seed-starting needs.

Works great for cuttings & seed starting
Great water retention for the needy cutting's & when starting seeds of all kinds of kind. Very competitive price point for a high quality organic product. Says there for hydroponic gardening. I personally grow in soil indoors and out in the garden. Many farmers are concerned these type's of plugs have formaldehyde or other things making the plugs uncompostable. Not disappearing in the garden soil. I have not run into this personally. Without getting into your intellectual property, would you please share any info. -are these plugs compostable? -are there any antimicrobial, antifungal compounds in the plugs? Please share any information you might have to relieve any concerns. Thank you

So easy to use.
I've just planted the seeds. These plugs are perfect and so easy to use. Hopefully the seeds sprout and grow with no problems.

Avoid avoid avoid avoid
I bought these plugs in 2024. I have used about half a bag. I have TERRIBLE results with these plugs compared to actual rapid rooters or root riot plugs. These plants do not want to root in these plugs. They are not effective. There is something wrong with these plugs. These are the worse plugs I’ve ever used. I have high success rooting in easy cloner, rockwool, and rapid rooters.

Good plugs. They are nice, but they don't automatically make you better at germinating seeds.
I really like the quality of the starter plugs and the packaging. I suspect there is a learning curve for them for seed starting. It has been hit and miss for me on germination success. But that could also be my overall inexperience as a gardener and in hydroponics. So far, easier to work with than rock wool, and I feel better about composting them when a plant meets its end of production. but a really good product.

Not sure for hydroponics
I generally have been using Viagrow Super Plug seed starters for my hydro setup but they were out for some reason the last time I went to purchase so I decided to pick up some of these VPS Organiplugs. Overall they work but interesting that they are more dense so roots seem to take longer to penetrate the material they are made out of. Also, they seem to be more susceptible to growing algae on them in my experience. I’m not sure if that is due to the nutrient that they say is a part of their recipe or not. They definitely work but I’d say that Viagro plugs are better IMHO. I’m going to use both for tomato seed starts later this week so hopefully I will have an update to pass along shortly
