nice overview
He does a decent job giving the necessary aspects of gardening. Lots of history and specifics to distinct cultivars. Lots of ideas on uses of garlic.

Its ok but not very well written. Not a lot of info book is all over the place.
Sorry I bought this book. Even bought 1 for a gift that i will not give.It a ok book . But it sure does not tell you much. Like when to harvest he just tells you when leaves start to yellow. Never gives you a count on leaves. I grow garlic and there is more to it than just yellow leaves. Does not even talks about garlic scapes when to cut them this is not a book for the beginner. If your looking for the right book then buy Growing Great Garlic by Ron l. England this is the right book to read.

Don't bother
This self-published book reads like a blog post: it's full of questionable information, is looping and repetitive, and is full of grammatical errors and typos. Example: he doesn't say where his garden is (although it seems somewhere in the UK) and he says garlic is usually planted on Dec 21st. What?? Maybe where he lives but almost certainly not correct for almost all readers. He also doesn't seem to like garlic much, repeatedly saying you shouldn't eat it raw because your breath will smell, and saying that a few cloves will produce enough garlic bulbs to last you a year. Just a complete waste of time and money.
