The tongs themselves are 12.25 inches long. If you close the tongs and pull the locking tab, the closed unit is about 14 inches.

How does this work for flipping overstuffed grilled cheese sandwiches?

Are they good for getting food out of an air fryer?

i bought mine , mostly for using on a flat pan, for delicate items that tend to fall apart, when flipping. works great. and it is better than some of the other, cheaper ones that are out there. i did not try it with air frier, but as it has a little flex, i would gett it would be fine. not htat you have methinking, i will try it for that, next air fryer session. it is a well made tool, i am glad i finally settled on it.
