Compact ice cream maker for storage
It's compact so fits in freezer easily, have to leave in there to freeze before making ice cream, so going to store in there when not using for when fancy some. I put it in a plastic bag so could get out without hands sticking to it as per instruction, think this might help with keeping it insulated when taking out of freezer as well. Motor gets quite warm when using but wasn't a problem. Need to make the ' custard' for ice cream and let chill for 1 to 2 hours before putting in ice cream maker so plan ahead. It makes 2 small tubs, type get in cinema with 300ml, capacity is 350ml. Another review said thickens quicker if use less so I did it with 300ml for 25 mins. As a novice I didn't know what it was supposed to look like when ready, and says not to switch off before ready, isnt an indicator just has on off switch. Recipes are for 125ml so wasn't sure about timings, I made 3x quantity and let run for 25 mins, using 300ml. Possibly ready in less says 15 to 20. Handy little machine. My mum had bigger lakeland version which makes more of a standard tub and I'd say is better if making for a couple or family or wanting to make a batch for more than one meal if time conscious.Great to have fresh ice cream, no nasties in it. My mum made blackberry and blackcurrant icecreams both delicious. I used light brown sugar instead of white, for vanilla worked fine gave it almost caramel flavour and vanilla essence as paste expensive. It's a little messy when taking apart again to clean as have to pull the paddle out, to separate the motor part from the lid. For the price very happy, does what it says. For me 2 small tubs perfect, as bit of a treat doesn't take up much room in my full freezer, lid/motor fits into my baking drawer.

Small ice cream maker
This is a great little thing. It comes with recipe at first u think wow that's alot to do, but do it and it's not really. It will take u around 2-3hrs for it to b ready with freezing and chilling process. It is small so I would say if ur wanting to make for family get another size.

FRAGILE.
Well, I've had mine for a while. It's not all that well insulated - I leave it in the freezer overnight, and it gets nice and cold, but needs to be used immediately with chilled ice cream mix - and if it's not done in 20 minutes, it's failed because it herats up too quickly (Primarily, I suspect, thrrough the badly insulated palstic lid and the heat of the motor). It's servicable - at this price point, I wasn't expecting much more.However. I dropped it - once - and that changes everything.THe flimsy plastic rim pattern is brittle and immediately broke: A crack also formed along the outer plastic coating.now any time it gets wet, a foamed plastic comes out the crack - whatever is inside reacting with the water.I no lnoger consider mine food-safe, and will not be buying one from this brand again.

My opinion
Good but it doesn’t make ice cream it just mixes it until you put it back into the freezer

Small but perfectly formed
I bought this to experiment with making ice cream, and will shortly have to investigate buying a bigger one as the only problem with it is that it doesn't make enough and I have a whole family now clamouring for fresh ice cream. You do have to make sure that the custard mixture is properly chilled before pouring into the mixer, and don't expect it to be fully firm straight out of the machine -- you still have to pop it in the freezer for a while before eating. But the results are absolutely delicious.

Great little ice cream maker
The media could not be loaded. Keep this in the freezer permanently now. It’s great for making ice cream for 1-2 people. I use it predominantly to make mr whippy ice cream. Takes less than 10 mins when I pour 300ml in. It’s works well enough for me.Don’t overfill it or ice cream won’t thicken or it will cover the upper lid/ stirrer

A little engine that can
Even for a 'removable base' ice cream maker this is still good value. It's easy to assemble, use, and clean, and it takes up very little space in the freezer in between uses.In terms of the negatives, if I want to get nit-picky:The paddle is plastic, and I have already (four months) noticed some chips in it where it has abraded against ice crystals. It's quite noisy when it runs, and if you run it for more than about 20 minutes you can actually start to melt your nascent ice-cream as the coolant warms up.However, in spite of the negative points it's still an excellent, economical ice cream maker that will take sorbets, ice creams, and even plain ices down to soft-serve texture in very short time. Just remember to put them in the freezer to finish hardening up.
