These are awesome!!
The media could not be loaded. Alright so these pants are awesome so far, and I’d say they are true to size, Im a 32x30, but i ordered a 32x32 and because I want them longer because I want them to cover my shoes a bit. Also, I am definitely ordering more!! These fit great, and I put a video testing to see how it did with water and it went beyond my expectations.Just a few things I first noticed, The button is metal, which is nice, they are not too baggy especially for straight pants, also the front and back pockets are mesh, I put them inside out in a picture to show. The one thing I think feels weird about them is the seam on the inside where the legs can zip off and the pants become shorts, it is a weird feeling when walking around because it has some of the material from the outside and it just probably needs some getting used too. Anyways overall 10/10 on these!tl;dr they’re really good

Perfect for a week of hiking Grand Teton and Yellowstone
Only worn for a week trip and a few short day hikes, so long term durability remains to be seen.Pros:* Awesome temperature regulation: warm when it's chilly out, cool in the sun.* Quick dry* Fit is very close to expected, maybe a little small but within reason. Elastic waistband helps that.* Comfortable material* Right leg velcro pocket big enough for a small field guide or small binocs* waist/hip pockets very roomy* Left leg zipper pocket smaller but secure enough for a wallet, map or licenses* Cut and fit allows for a good range of motionCons:* Zippers feel flimsy and stick, they didn't break but I avoided using the zippered legs and pockets* Seams were itchy before a few wash and wearsOverall a great buy for the cost- I plan to get another pair for my next trip.

Small fit.
Everything about these pants are excellent. I have a couple of pairs ofColumbia hiking pants which are about the gold standard. These compare in every way to the Columbia pants except for sizing. I’m normally size 30” waist which is what I ordered but the Gash Hao pants were too small. Reordered 32 but they were big. So in the end I returned them. If they fit they are an excellent choice. In fact the two rear pockets have zippers which my Columbia’s do not.

Great pants, comfortable, breathable and durable! USED ON CAMINO DE SANTIAGO!!!
I purchased these pants for my 110km journey from Ourense to Santiago de Compostela, Spain for the famous Camiño de Santiago. These pants made hiking 35+ km (20+mi) per day a pleasure. Great pants guys, keep up the good work!Tired of wearing long pants? Feel free to conveniently unzip those bottom halves and BOOM you're like every German tourist around, wearing khaki shorts and walking in comfort. Feel the breeze on those knees!Starts to rain on and off again every 15-20 minutes with a strong, bitterly cold wind (this is typical in Galicia)? Just zip those bad boys back on and keep walking like a champ. Kept my bottom half dry and prevented water from entering my shoes and socks, something that any person who's ever walked 50 meters in wet shoes knows is vitally important! On a long hike, any hint of moisture will turn those comfy, normally skin-covered feet into shriveled, blister coated monstrosities.

Odd sizing and cheap material.
I bought these in the fall, because I'm always wanting shorts early on and pant's later.Don't know what proportions they're working with, but they're not for any average human.1st: I normally wear 30 long, but they were out so I tried a 32. That should literally be only 2 inches longer. The pair I received were able to go under my feet, plus another 4 inches, that's a good 10in too long. So when I zipped off the legs under the "knees" they were still down to mid calf, just shy of still being pants for me.2nd: Now lets talk about the oddness of the crotch measurement. Most pants have the appropriate length zipper, then a few inches to end of the crotch. These have what's actually a correct length for the zipper, but then they added that length again to the end of the crotch. making the point where the legs meet more than halfway down my thigh, almost had me waddling like a penguin to walk in them.3rd: Material was only ever so slightly better than bathing suit material, and certainly felt like it.Not what I'd expect from a $40 pair of pants. On the positive side, the leg areas actually zipped off/on really easily.Lack of quality control killed this item. If they improve that material, and fix their wacky measurements it could be a good product.

Seam would abraid knee when hiking
When I lift my knee, the zipper seam grabs at my knee. The fabric stretches, so it might be OK in general, but for light hiking, I think it likely to abraid the knee - returned. I would have avoided the pants, had I seen the gusset on the side pocket. My old zip-offs pockets have a gusset, which is kind of ugly; it catches on the knobs on the lower cabinets in my kitchen. However, the Gash Hao gusset does not catch, because the bottom corner is not tacked down, so no snag.Context: I'm overweight, just under 210, 5'11. The most obvious extra is around the middle, so I wear my belt low. I'm in good shape, swimmer shoulders and relatively skinny legs. I ordered a 36 waist, and it fit me fine. I'm looking for hiking pants with a slim, lower pocket to hold my smartphone, faced against my thigh. The phone must not bang against my knee; I tried convertible pants in the hope that the zipper would force the side pocket higher. "Lee Men's Performance Series Extreme Comfort Cargo Pant" meet my general needs most of the time, but the fabric is a bit too absorbant and clingy (but stretchy) for my light hiking.

Trail Tested
I bought these pants not knowing what expect. The price point was low compared to other brands. Well, worth every penny. My son and I did a 16 mile section hike (26 round trip) along the PCT. We spent three days hiking and backpacking. I only took these pants off to sleep. It rained on and off, pants kept me dry and dried quick. 1st day temperatures were in the 80s mesh pockets kept the breeze running through. Last day temperatures were in the 50s in the morning and I still felt warm. A little knife accident left a small hole and that hole never grew despite the continued use. Great pair of backpacking pants.
