Used it on our AZ70 scope and it cuts the glow of the moon down good. Works as should.

Useful for certain apll
This filter isn't going to change your life, but if you have a super bright full moon or super powerful telescope, it can definitely help for some casual moon watching. I could see many more moon craters with this. I'm glad I bought it and had it for the recent supermoon event. It made viewing a bit easier, but for photography it wasn't really required as it is a neutral density attenuation of the light and that's exactly what your camera will do when it changes exposure time to a shorter exposure. Let me sum it up this way, I'm glad I have it and if I lost it, i would probably buy it again.

Great view of the creaters.
Worked great on my Celestron 130AZ's 10 and 20mm's. Brought out great detail.

Works as intended
You can tell a pretty large difference between the amount of light reaching your eye using this piece. The full moon is still to bright to edge in all those details but it will take away some eye strain. As far as using it for photography, you will have to adjust coloring to get out the green tint. If you use lightroom, adjusting the temp to -5 and the hue to 5 will give you a kind of natural bluish tint. As I stated before the full moon is still a light pollution monster so your camera may do it better justice adjusting the ISO or frame speed. Maybe ISO 80 and 1/125 fs. But if you're looking at a Waning Gibbous this filter will help manage the ambiance so you can see those craters hiding off to the edge in the shadows. Pretty good for it's price. It also fits in both my celestron eye pieces and pylossl which is nice. Can switch between my newtonian reflector and celestron refractor without to much eyepiece play. I don't recommend for stargazing or looking for planets unless you're using a high power piece

Why did you pick this product vs others?:When its absolutely dark out is the best time to use this filterDuring the day time the moon looks yellowish which is to be expected but im happy none the less!

Filter outer diameter smaller than 1-1/4"
The outer diameter of this filter is smaller that the 1-1/4" barrel so that a lens cap fits too loosely to stay on. I am replacing this filter due to that inconvenience.
