Remove the lens before installing
Just received and I did a test run of the installation without actually getting on a ladder. My box contained parts from another product which I do not need but also the instructions are for that other product, so I had to go commando in terms of instructions. The most important thing to realize is that you really must remove the "lens" to install this. It would be nearly impossible to get the screw heads in the ceiling into the slots on the light fixture unless you remove the lens. I couldn't remove the lens with my fingers, not being tacky enough. So I used some masking tape to fashion a little handle to allow me to twist the lens counter-clockwise and, with that, it was easy to open. Getting the lens back on was fairly easy as well.I used wood screws to mount the light directly to my bead-board ceiling (no junction box (I only wanted a small hole cut into my bead-board). If you're not using a junction box, you really need to drill and prefit your screws first, but expect to be required to put the screws through the light fixture rather than twisting the fixture onto the screw heads. In may case, the wood screws' heads are a tad large to fit the slots in the fixture. The shaft of the screws are a good size for the slots.Note that the wires on the underside must go into the hole in your ceiling, and this hole is NOT between the screw holes, its offset about an inch. I could use 500 words explaining what I mean, but you will see and you need to accommodate this.I am using 18 gauge 2-conductor wire which is not up to code. Since these lights have a metal body, they are required to be grounded (which is what the green wire on the light fixture is for). I'm going cowboy mode and ignoring the green wire. But I wanted to comment that 18 gauge wire is good for about 10-15 amps. In hot attics the capacity is lower. Each one of these 120V 15 watt lights requires 1/8th of an ampere. So with 10 amps limit, you could string up 80 lights, assuming my math is correct (and I think it is). I will only have 6 on my circuit so 18 gauge wire has plenty capacity to spare.

I just love this light
Great light! I have a large chandelier in great room that was not centered in the room. Would need to cut Sheetrock, insert 2x4s and outlet box in order to move it. It's also on cathedral ceilings. Problem is, there are 2 ceiling fans above it and another large light over island. All these lights are within feet of each other. Too many lights! Having difficulty finding replacements for all these light that will compliment each other. And hated location of chandelier. Finally decided to remove chandelier and just put a metal cover over the box. But, removing this light meant there was no light to turn on when entering the house. Just decided to put a motion night light by door so we'd have some light to enter with. Not the greatest idea but eliminated the issue. While looking for plate cover, came across this light and thought it would work. And work it did! It's super thin and blended in with white if ceiling so does not interfere with look of room. Now, I have a light to enter house, no longer have misplaced chandelier and beautiful open ceiling with this low profile light. What's even better is my husband couldn't believe how incredibly easy it was to install!

Good Quality & Easy to Install
We bought a six-pack of these lights and they made a huge difference over our existing 3,200k pancake lights. The trick is to rotate off the plastic cover first to get to the mounting holes. Then, after wiring it twist the cover back on. I have a feeling I'll be ordering more of them to replace other lights in our house.

Arrived fast but was bent and cracked on the edge.
Shipped and arrived quickly but it was bent on the edge and had a small crack at the bend. I straightened it but the crack is still visible. Luckily it’s in a pantry and when the light is on it’s not visible.
