Mudder Long Spindle Clock Movement, 4/5 Inch Maximum Dial Thickness, 1-1/5 Inch Total Shaft Length

I make wood clocks as a hobby for family and friends and only use the Mudder clock mechanism. They keep accurate time and have different types of hands that can be trimmed to suit actual lengths required in some cases. Most importantly, they have a 15/16" long threaded stem which is the longest I can find. I use a 1/4" thick wood background and I still have to plane the 3/4" wood feature design down to 5/8" thick. I would really like to see Mudder make a threaded clock stem that is 1 1/2" or 1 1/4" long.

Maybe I'm being a bit too hard with 4 stars, as the clock motor and hands work well, and after 3 days the time is very consistent with my phone's clock. The only issue I have is, I had an older mechanism this was replacing that had a second hand, so I tried adding the second had to the movement piece. It all fit nicely and the second is extremely light, as you would expect, but the motor could not tick the second hand on the upside of the minute (from 6 to 11). The description gave me the impression a second hand could be added, but I don't see the motor having enough torque to also support a second hand. Other than that, the hands and movement are working very well.

I like that even though the minute hand was a lil too long for my 13" clock face, I can just snip it off shorter with a scissors. Also, one of the 15 kits I bought, had 2 minute hands in it, and no hour hand. Since the hour hands are shorter, and have bigger holes for mounting, I can't make that kit work. I'm hoping to get a kit with 2 hour hands, so i,I, make them both work.

perfect for those clocks needing and extra long center post for thicker clocks. however, it should have a few more minute and hour hands as there are only 2 included. I had to cut down both for them to fit my clock.
