Does exactly what it says — no fuss external DVD burner with LightScribe
If you still need an external CD/DVD burner with LightScribe support, this one gets the job done without drama. Plug-and-play on my Windows and Mac machines, no weird driver installs or compatibility headaches. What I like: Reads and writes CDs and DVDs smoothly — burns discs at decent speeds, no errors so far. LightScribe works perfectly with my old discs. The laser engraving looks crisp and professional, which is pretty cool since it’s a dying feature. Portable and lightweight — easy to toss in a bag or use on a desk without taking up much space. USB powered, no external power brick needed, which keeps it simple. What to know: It’s a bit noisy when spinning up, but honestly, all drives are. Nothing crazy or annoying, just the usual mechanical whir. Not the fastest burner out there, but that’s expected for an external USB device. The drive tray feels a little flimsy but works fine for regular use. If you want to keep using physical media and like the LightScribe labeling option, this external burner is a solid choice. No bells and whistles, just reliable performance for discs, burns, and labels. TL;DR: Reliable CD/DVD read/write LightScribe support that actually works Portable and USB-powered Slightly noisy, but nothing annoying Would recommend if you need a no-nonsense external optical drive with LightScribe.

It works
The CD player worked fine. I tried it today. It’s compact enough. Good DVD drive. Plug and play. The only problem I had was trying to take my CD out after I used it. I couldn’t get it out. It would not eject at all for some reason. But I finally got it out after many tries and plugging the cd player in and out of my apple computer. The compatibility is ok. Recommend.

Did not work for me.
Would have given it 0 stars if I could have. After 5 tries I finally got it to read a brand new Windows 11 installation DVD. I needed it to install Windows 11 on a new PC I had just built. The build took me longer than expected otherwise I would have returned the Drive.

Good while it lasts
Nostalgia hit me and I bought this recently. Tried it out and it does work. Be aware that you'll have to get third party drivers because these haven't been made in years. But a quick internet search will bring them up. Installing them is a bit of a pain, but it will create a Lightscribe service even on Windows 11 25H2. Of course getting the media is even more difficult but check the auction sites. Be aware a 10 pack may run you $30 or more. Again, no longer manufactured, so this is definitely one of those things that has a limited shelf life before you can't get the supplies. Still works just fine as a burner though.

Stopped Working today after 4 months
Loved this little DVD player, it has been working very well for four months and just today it decided to die on me! I'm most disappointed. I was able to open the disk drive by putting a paper clip in the little hole beside the eject button but the eject button itself still isn't working.
