Secada

I like all of Jon Secada, but this is one of his best selections. I highly recommend.

I looked everywhere for this and I kept getting the run around because I would get the wrong one sent to me , so thank you for getting it to me.

I have to admit that I like Jon Secada's music better in Spanish. Not so much because I speak Spanish and understand it, but there is so much more emotion and passion. Why am I reviewing this English version then? Because there are different songs from the Spanish-English versions, so if you want the complete collection, you actually need to buy both. Another thing I'd like to mention is the contribution that Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis made on this CD. The duo gained popularity as members of The Time, a former Prince project. They also have worked with countless other bands including The Human League(Human), and how could one forget Janet Jackson. As a result, this CD has more soul than most other Secada efforts, although he covered a Marvin Gay song on Heart, Soul... I really liked most of the songs. "Believe," "Forever," "Ready for Love," and "Too late, Too soon," are very beautiful songs. It was nice to hear The Sounds of Blackness doing back up vocals in a couple songs. I have smiled during this CD, and cried during it, but I guess that is what it is all about...Emotions, living, learning, and loving. Peace... PS- You may want to try and get a hold of "Amor." It was released in 97 I think, only available in Spanish. It is a masterpiece of ballads.

I own all of the Jon Secada CD's (English Versions) and find each one adding a new element of beauty and talent. Jon Secada has one of the most wonderful voices in music today. I lose touch on occasion with his CD's, but, when I place them back in my CD player, I sink into a mood of appreciation, joy, and relaxation!

"Secada" is another one of those CD's with the right blend of romantic ballads and up tempo music to get your toes tapping. If you like Gloria Estefan's music, Jon's "Secada" CD is for you. Jon is truly the best in Latin/Pop male entertainment.

This is CD is not as good as his previous releases. However, several songs are worth listening to.

For a CD with a copyright date of 1997 it reminded me of those 'failed' 1980s tunes that suffered because of the lack of life whereas tunes with a more exciting rythmn would not only soar in the charts but survive and be played many years later.OK to be fair his voice is good with no bad notes heard but I listened to this once and can say it's not a CD I'm likely to play again unless its for background noise when people visit to converse. To be fair track 8 is probably more suited to be listened to at a funeral as mourners start to congregate prior to the ceremony.Not my cup of tea at all with nothing exciting about any of the tracks which is a shame as I've heard at least one song by him that I liked on a radio station but that song was not on this CD.

When I received the cd it had one song missing from it and 2 more tracks had interference on them but this was due to a recording and manufacturing fault and not the sellers as it was a brand new cd.I contacted the seller to explain the problem and I received an email (only 2 hours later) informing me of there concern that the cd was faulty and also to tell me that they had given me a full refund including postage.The reason I have given it four stars is for packageing, very fast delivery and excellent customer relations.Thank YouEncore Records
