Premium Pet Bed Mat: Soft Self Warming Dog Bed - Crate Pad for Dogs and Cats - Medium Dog Beds, Small Dog Beds - Cat Bed with Reflective Core - Puppy Bed

This is kind of a hard review to write for the simple fact that although I may think that the Pet warming and cooling comfort pet bed is a great idea and a well made product, neither my dog or my cat seem to agree. I am really just not able to tell you why they will not use it, but I have never seen either one of them on it and I have had it for quite some time now. The bed is 31 1/2" by a little over 17" and made of a nice soft material. The design is similar to a pillow case in that it has an opening at one end to insert the reflective warming pad that is similar to one of those reflective windshield covers you use in the summer and is included with the bed. There is also a cooling pad that you can purchase separately (which I did and will review separately) that is thicker and contains a gel like substance. It is summer now and I have tried the bed with and without both inserts, but still they have no interest. I have it placed next to another bed that they will take turns using, but my dog mostly prefers to lay on the cement basement floor to stay cool. Right now I have it on the carpet in the living room, but the bottom of it does have a bumpy non skid texture on it to prevent it from sliding on any non carpeted flooring. About the only reason I can come up with as to why they will not use it is because I just happened to walk on it earlier today and found it to be "slippery" in the sense that the top layer and the insert layer are slippery against each other providing what may seem to be an unstable surface to them causing them to shy away from it. I did receive this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest opinion of it's quality and performance, and all I can say is that it really does seem to be a well made, durable product, and that I think it is a great idea, however unfortunately it is just not working for us. thank you for taking the time to read this review.

So far, I have ordered 3 of these self-warming pet mats for my 21lb, 10+ yr Jack Russel mix rescued dog Poco. She has developed “incontinence” over the past year. Poco only pees in her bed, not on the floors, but that meant washing her towels & blankets often, which was driving me crazy till I discovered these mats. The pet mats not only keep her warm, they are so EASY to launder in my machines. I remove the inner warming/reflective (and pee proof!) pad, spray it with mild cleaner & wipe dry. Then launder the fabric “pillow case” on delicate and dry on low, turns out perfect, even after many washing’s. Easy to reinsert the reflective pad, and now a clean bed for Poco! I have the 1 large size (which completely covers & protects her very large 40” (not washable) dog bed, and 2 of the smaller giraffe pattern smaller ones that cover her smaller bed (see photo) or the couch. I am getting ready to order another one for my friends outdoor cat shelter. These pads have made the job of keeping her bedding clean SO much easier and quicker for me, since the blankets and towels took much longer to wash & dry and did not protect the bed itself from pee! The giraffe pattern fabric is especially soft, and easily sheds fur by shaking outside. Poco loves laying on either mat. I will use one in the car when she goes for rides to the park etc. These pet mats are well constructed of quality materials, will last a long time. Very satisfied, highly recommend. Poco gives it 5 stars too! ;0)

My cat knew this pet mat was for her and was happy to test it out immediately upon my unwrapping the package. Because she is rather old and frail and doesn't jump up on the furniture much anymore, instead of placing it on a couch, I tried laying it inside a shallow, rectangular cardboard box on the floor (with the thought of making a simple "bed" for her to curl up in). Although I obviously couldn't ask her, (I'm still working on learning to speak cat), she did seem to like it right away.I later decided to "upgrade" to a cozier, fully-enclosed DIY "cat cave" that I made out of a larger box I happened to have around. I cut a cat-sized entrance on one side, slid the mat inside, and viola! More privacy, less draft (my house is slightly cool), and, I would assume, better heat radiation. Side-note: While I cannot promise that such a box (aka cat cave) will do much, if anything, to add to the attractiveness of your home (okay, okay, it might even take away from the attractiveness of your home), it will most likely satisfy your cat like it did mine. (What cat doesn't like a box?)I will probably look for an electrical heated mat soon, just to provide my kitty with more options and see what she likes best, but regardless of that, I'm very happy with my purchase of this thermal pet bed/mat. Very simple concept, easy to clean/maintain (the outer layer is removable and washable), and it will only be an eye-sore if you copy my kitty-cave idea. ;)

Not to be dramatic but this bed saved my dog. Originally bought for my other pup who loved when I used a heating pad for my shoulder. That one had ZERO interest. The little one was hit by a car and we were told by the vet and canine neurologist that she would not regain movement on her left side. Struggling with the most difficult decision of my life, I had put her on this pad in hope to help comfort her. Within 72 hours she began to recover. She is now bounding around the house like a madwoman and it even assisted with her arthritis she had prior to the accident! She is no longer on the medication she needed for her joint inflammation and pain that she was on when she was hit by the car. Can’t say for sure the bed has all these miraculous medicinal effects- but if you saw the change it had for my dog there would be no debate on whether to order. On a practical level it’s very easy to wash and you don’t need to worry about electrocuting your dog or burning your house down.

My three cats turned up their noses when I first brought this into the house. I would put them on it, they'd step off and curl down beside it. I think perhaps the thermal pad inside felt weird or possibly even crackled under their toes. Then big cat decided to give it a go and sleeps on it every night, strategically placed at the foot of the bed. Little cats saw big cat liked it and soon gave it a go.Plus points - it really does seem to be nice and warm and of course there's no need to plug it in and no power required to keep it warm. It stops the rest of the bed getting quite so fluffy. It's big - all three could curl up on it at the same time if they were that friendly.Minus points - I hate to say it but the colour is really rather ugly. Would be better if there were a range of colours to choose from. This wouldn't go with the decor in any room in my house.

I wanted a heat mat of some sort for my cat and the lack of electricity made this one appealing. I wasn't sure how effective it would be but decided to take a punt and try it. I like the giraffe print cover, it's soft and thick and the bottom material has rubber spots to stop it from moving about. I sat on it to try it out and I was surprised by how warm my bottom got. I also tried resting my hand on it and found that wasn't enough weight or heat to do anything so I'm not sure how suitable this would be for young kittens. It is a simple and clever idea and so much better than something with wires to be chewed so I'm happy and would buy it again.

Got this for my dog in hoping that as the reflective inner is stiff he wouldn't be able to scrunch it up as he has others and that has proved to be the case. It also has more padding than others of this type I've bought and so I would think it will be more comfortable. Unfortunately the velcro end doesn't stay closed as both sides are hooks rather than one being loops for the hooks to attach to, allowing the inner to slide out defeating the object.

My cat really loved this in winter. We use it below a radiator to maximise the impact. Getting much less use over summer but to be expected.It’s actually more attractive than most pet items so I really don’t mind having it in our living room

As you can see, she is very happy with this! 😺 so am I. Great product, arrived quickly and I have absolutely no complaints at all. My moggy has not slept anywhere else since this arrived. 5 stars from both of us!
