I've been cooking for more than 40 years, and have cut many things in the kitchen in that time, but never as easily as with these shears.I finally got tired of trying to spatch-cock a chick with dull shears. I decided to spend a little more to get, what I hoped, would be a quality pair. Wow! I wasn't ready for these. The first time I tried cutting the backbone out of a chicken, it literally cut as easily as going through thin cardboard. I was truly shocked, so I actually cut the backbone in small pieces to just see if they would do it: yep!It even easily cuts through styrofoam (you know, the little trays that meats come on) very easily. Seems like d'uh, but my previous several pairs of shears didn't handle it well.These are sharp over the entire blade length, and sturdy enough not to deform or twist if cutting something thick. I really like the fact that the two blades easily come apart for cleaning. Who knew?!Don't hesitate, buy this now! You won't regret it.

These shears arrived nicely packaged in a box with Japanese text. They felt hefty and inspire confidence that these are nice quality. I first used them on a whole roasting chicken. They just snapped through all the bones as needed to quickly cut it up and leave most of the meat de-boned for marinating it for that night's dinner. I usually use just a knife or both a knife and shears for this job, but I just didn't feel like putting these shears down. And that is saying something because I love my 10" Wusthof chef's knife that I use for this task. The blades are nice and tight and with the serrated edge on one side, just grip onto bones as easily as chicken skin to cut right through. I was only hoping that they would be this impressive.I don't plan on losing these shears, but if I ever take and forget them to a friend's house and they refuse to give them back; or I am enjoying plenty of wine while cooking and just gift them to one of my guests in awe with these things, I would absolutely buy them again!Great kitchen tool. They look good, feel good in the hand and work great. A wonderful product that more than lives up to the expectation for some quality crafted Japanese shears.For me personally, the only thing that would make these even more enjoyable to use, is if the thumb hole on the upper thumb handle was a little bigger. But that of course, depends on size of user's hands.These get an easy five stars from me -and I love good cutting tools.

It has not been long, as I am may update you in a few months if the blades get duller. But for now, it's great. The blades are sharp and effective, the cuts are efficient and it's easy to take apart and clean.

Well made. Extremely sharp blades that cut effortlessly through almost any kitchen challenge. Far better than shears I have purchased in the grocery store. Comfortable to hold and cut with. To me, it’s a great value as I believe these will last a long time.

I love these. I have two pairs and may buy another pair in the next few months. They cut everything very well, even most chicken bones. There’s only one downside. The metal nut that helps hold them together rusts way too easily. Then again maybe if I washed them immediately after use rather than soaking them in hot water and dish soap with my other utensils, they probably wouldn’t rust so quickly. Enjoy

I love how sharp and light the kitchen scissors are. They come apart for cleaning and are very comfortable to use. Great product.

These scissors will last a lifetime. They are sturdy and sharp.
