Works perfectly!
I bought this to boost the signal coming out of the line out of a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano that I hooked up to a stereo system located in a restaurant where I play. I had to use a 50 foot RCA patch cord to connect the piano to the stereo system and found the piano's line out did not provide a high enough voltage to produce sound. This booster did the trick. The sound quality is perfect; no hum, no distortion. Being able to adjust the boost level helped. It also came with its own 12 volt AC/DC adapter. All I needed was a standard patch chord to complete the connection (which was not provided and I wasn't expecting it to be).

At last a solution
My first order of this item was a bit disappointing, the box contained a couple of metal plates and a few screws – no electronics at all. I wrote a semi-snippy note while returning it and requesting a replacement. The 2nd one zipped in Sunday night (just 3 days later) and I found it on the doorstep Monday AM.Here's my problem: I am QUITE deaf. I use a pair of ancient Radio Shack headphones to hear my tv audio. (they transmit an infrared signal from their station to my headset 10 feet away. For many years i have connected this Radio Shack station to the RCA jacks on my vcrs (now obsolete) or my 'cable box' (tivo) supplied by the cable company. The headphones supply more loudness than even I need (I can turn the headset down to the level I need). My cable company prices have increased to 'brutal' and 'extortionate' (if that's a word). So, like the rest of you, I'm finally considering streaming. (When you're deaf it's not so easy though.) So goodbye cable box and its nice powerful RCA audio jacks. My semi-smart tv does have RCA jacks. They apparently have no audio on them. The tv's digital audio jack, when run thru a DAV and connected to my Radio Shack station provides a very weak signal to my headset.So... I connect my new amplifier to the output of the DAV and voila I got adequate audio to my Radio Shack headphones! So I'll let it cook for a few days and see if it smokes, hopefully not taking anything else with it. Dialogue, so far, is crystal clear. (music is my enemy, being that I'm deaf, so I can't comment on that) This is, hopefully, the culmination of a long struggle to get audio out of my so-called smart tv's digital audio jack. Maybe I can finally stream like the rest of the world.Edit: 10-23-23I was concerned that the amplifier is on 24-7. So I got an AC extension cord, put an in-line switch on it and plugged the amp into it. Now I can turn it off when I go to bed and turn on next day whenever I start to watch tv. BUT... I notice that the red operating light doesn't go out when I switch off. Instead it kind of fades away over 2 seconds. So I'm not sure if I'm saving the amp usage OR putting more strain on it.

Nice little amp!
I'm using this to control the signal level into my subwoofer amp, it works great! I only need 3-5dB boost but this box will go much higher. It's quiet and convenient!

Awesome if all you want in feedback hum!
Does a great job of producing magnificent feedback hum and NOTHING ELSE. My suggestion is to avoid this product.

Great Product
This worked great. Used it to make a Juke box input louder into a mixer and it did exactly what I needed with no additional noise added. I was surprised as there isn't alot of products like this and the information available wasn't super clear if this would work for my application. Don't hesitate to buy.

Worth Every Penny!!! Great, no added noise, Sound!
I needed this between my TV and surround system. I converted my optical out of the TV to Analog using the small converter you see in photo. Problem was the level was okay but too low.Seeing the reviews I put out the $40 bucks.THIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!At first I had it set to 0 gain. Good test sounded as normal as not having it inline.I turned it up to 15 db gain and I finally don't have to turn up my amplified system to 90%.Note: Sound system is fine with all other equipment, it was just the TV output too low.At 15 db gain it was crisp clear, deep bass, great treble, etc.Now random added noise at all just using the patch cable grounds. I did not have to ground it to my amp (even though please do if you get a ground loop).VERY VERY HAPPY IN OKLAHOMA AND WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY.QUALITY BUILT!!!

Clear frequency
Working great as an in line gain booster from my Denon AVR to the Emotiva Airmotive 12” sub. It’s a long run to the sub from the denon to the the sub and I wanted to boost the LF so I don’t need the sub gain turned up too high.. It’s working just like I hoped! Just ordered another one for my Martin Logan 8”! By increasing signal output towards 14v, I will be able to keep the gain on the amps amps down.. This is will keep them working more efficiently and reduce the chance of overheating !! I recommend buying a female to double male rca, running the LF rca out into that , then the double male into the gain booster right behind the sun and turn the knob to 0.. then have 2 rca( male at each end ) and plug from the gain booster to the LFE input at the sub. I try to be sure to keep the colors correct at each in and output here… Turn the gain all the way down on the sun to start. Now plug in the power supply to the booster and then into the power source.. Turn on some music and go back to the sub.. Turn the gain on the sub up to 1/3, and then go to the booster and slowly turn it on.. Work with these two gain settings paitently so you get a nice response from the sub without making it “jump “ out of the box… You don’t want the sun to “roll off” and sound “boomy” instead you are looking for a quick balanced punch at the 50hz and you want it to roll clean as you roll down to 30hz.. Good luck!! You should have some fun!!

Do Not Buy!!!!
It stopped working after 2 uses. Im glad I check my equipment before a gig. This 3rd time around it did not work at all. I had to go without it. Piece of TRASH!!
