New Leaf Basic 100% Recycled Paper Composition Book, 100 Sheets, 9.75 x 7.5 Inches, College Ruled, Black Leaf (4512305)

I love the exterior design of this notebook - it looks great in person, impressive. I love that it's made from recycled materials. However, the pages are a bit thin and as a result I'm going back to using the Decomposition notebooks. I was hoping to find a cheaper equivalent.

I got this notebook becouse I loved the cover. It's much better built than the composition books at Walmart, but be forewarned, the paper is very absorbent. In fact, it's almost become my standard of bad paper, if it doesn't bleed through this paper it won't bleed through 99% of any other kind of paper. Even regulair bick pens bleed through. Another disappointment is that it's made in Taiwan, while the cheapo 3 dollar one is made in the US. But the cover is lovely, the build is solid (I would know I abuse my notebooks) and overall it's a very nice notebook.

Item as described. Cover is not super thick or particularly stiff like some, but will work fine. There were a handful of grouped pages bent over and missed by the paper cutter.

The cover is a little flimsier than I would like, but overall it's exactly what I wanted. I have trouble finding college ruled composition books in stores, so I'm happy with this. The price is good; plus it's recycled. If you don't like recycled paper, you probably won't like this, but I do. I would recommend this product and will buy them again when I need more.

I really appreciated being able to find a college-ruled composition book. And I love even more that it's recycled (I recycle and like to buy recycled products). The cover is a sturdy cardboard that's resistant to bending and creasing, and the black strip down the side is also firmly attached. I used this notebook last year for NaNoWriMo and it survived being written in daily and being carried around everywhere with me (including often being stuffed in my purse).There was some show-through when using a roller ball or gel pen, but not to the point where I couldn't use both sides of the page. I'm planning to stock up on a few more just to have on hand.Update (10/3/12):Though I still really like this notebook, it has tripled in price from when I first purchased it for $2.49. I'll be choosing something else for my NaNoWriMo exploits this year.

Still waiting to hear back from the seller, but the notebook I received was definitely not the one I ordered. The one I received was terrible quality, and didn't even look remotely similar to the one I paid for. It's a shame because New Leaf notebooks are great. This one, however, is not.
