Gets rid of the bulge.
I reload a lot, and when I buy or farm brass I run into cases that have been through a Glock and have a bulge at the base of the case. These shells need to be run through a base sizing die to remove the bulge and bring the case back to specification. This pass-through sizing die does the trick for 40S&W.

Less expensive - still effective
I collect range brass whenever I go out. I run into a lot of bulged base brass in 40SW. This certainly works to solve the bulged case problem. For quite a bit less than the carbide model, this still effectively does the same job. Be aware you still have to full length size your cases after using this die as this leaves a slight taper to the brass. I don’t mind lubing the cases before hand since I usually do for normal sizing anyway. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that unlike the pictures the one I received has the spring loaded push rod like the more expensive model. This pushrod has a collar that the case sits in and allows hands free guiding of the case into the die. Really saves your fingers from getting a pinch cut between the brass and the die on the press upstroke. Bottom line - works like it should and being the cheaper model, it still leaves you some cash to put towards supplies.

Critical first step for reloading 40sw cases
Great product. Critical if reloading 40sw due to bulge often present in brass when shooting ammo in barrels with unsupported chambers which normal resizing dies do not remove. Reloading cases without this critical first step can result in a kb in worst case scenario ( possible out of battery issues). Resizing is easy to do in a single stage press. ( die also processes 357 sig) attaching a box to the top of the die can create a chute so brass processing goes really fast. Afterwards just reload as normal. Every round I processed did not fail the plunk test in a tight Lyman case gauge. Highly recommend.

Gun Kabooms. RE-Review of the Die 8/12/21
I bought this to resize 40 cal and Sig 357. Both are 40 S&W cases.I had run my 40 S&W cases through my resizer/ deprimer dies. Some did not resize and would not drop fully into my case checker. The cases in question had the infamous Glock Smile from the Unsupported Glock original barrel. At first I thought it was a good idea to run them through this additional resizer. After reading many articles on casing failures and Guns having a Kaboom and destroying the gun I have made the choice NOT to use this resizer. The Glock Smile bulges the brass. My way of thinking is this die in doing what it’s intended to do is in reality forcing the brass back to the correct size BUT it is also weakening the spot across the casings where the Glock Smile was.Might get away with it once maybe several times but eventually that weak spot is going to give, I’ve seen photos of a little and photos of complete gun distruction. Just look on YouTube.Just not willing to chance my gun, my hand and other body parts and people around me to save a few cents on a casing. Any I find now I smash the case and trash them.Just my opinion and experience from 50 plus years of reloading. This is by no means the only cause of case failures but its one I can control.ADD RE-REVIEW 8/12/21; I stand by my review regarding the Glock Smile, if the brass has the Smile trash the brass. However I reordered another Die to use in Addition to my RCBS 3 die set for reloading 40 cal,10 mm.40 Cal brass has a habit of a swelling just above the base regardless of what gun it’s fired from and the REDDING DIE is a necessity to remove that slight swell at the base or your reloaded cases may not fit in the chamber causing the slide to not go into battery.I just finished running 500 cases that were sized with the RCBS resizer that still wouldn’t allow the case to seat in the chamber and stopping the slide from going into battery.Ran the cases thru the Redding die and they fit perfectly into my casing sizer checker. The Redding die is highly recommended if your reloading 40sw, 10mm and 357 SIG.

This die was carbon steel - but NOT labelled as such.
This Die was New Old Stock of better than expected quality at a promotional price, or should I say blow-out price. From A Vendor I usually deal with- Midway USA. None of the packaging mentioned it was Carbon Steel, and the fact that it included case lube led me to believe it might NOT be Carbon Steel - but it was! I reformed over 1000 cartridges, with ease after only a few with lube. Works great with my Lyman American 8 Turret press.

A necessity for reloading 40 S&W range brass
Like a lot of people who shoot, I sweep up other people's brass at the range and reuse it. 40 S&W brass that comes out of a Glock has a bulge near the base that regular resizing dies do not reshape. The Glock barrel does not fully support the entire round inside the chamber, so the brass expands excessively. "Glock Bulge", its called. It's a real nuisance to go through the trouble and expense of reloading Glock-fired brass, only to find that untreated rounds will not chamber in anything else. This offering by Redding is a push-through die that gets ride of the Glock bulge. Essential part of the kit if you shoot reloaded .40's.

Perfect Prescription for .40SW Glock Buldge
Works exceptionally well. I was able to recover several hundred .40SW casings that I’d set aside that had the Glock Buldge and wouldn’t gauge or chamber. Easy to setup and use, and well made.
