I don't know how the manufacturer/supplier of this product can claim that it is designed to remove odors in various situations; when the product arrives with/already strongly smelling as if it were soaked in URINE. The terrible strong odor emitted from these bags was absolutely sickening. I can't imagine how these are going to remove or absorb any odors when they themselves smell so terrible, to begin with. This is why they are being returned. The description of this product does not truly convey mention that these bags come with their own distinct and very offensive odor!

I don't know why people saying that this thing helps.I use to make charcoal for a living,this thing stinks.I just bought it to prove to myself lol.Remember you are not eliminating smell,you are just replacing it with another smell.If you really want to use it and you are really sure it works than just buy 10 pounds real wood charcoal bag in home depot and you can make like 50 little bags like this.It is a damn charcoal.

Last year I bought a single one of these charcoal packs and I loved it. I loved it so much, I recently ordered more (these). These were a huge disappointment. Straight out of the bag they reeked of a strong fishy smell. Set them outside for a day in the sun, hoping the smell would leave, but nope, it didn't. Instead of taking odors away, these brought worse odors.

A product designed to remove odor should NOT smell like fish when opened. I thought maybe I was crazy, but my husband confirmed that these odor absorbers smelled horrible. We didn't even open the other two packages but returned them all. I will go back to buying the more expensive Moso brand, which don't smell like anything when opened! To the manufacturer: I did not contact you directly because no amount of customer service will fix a literally stinky product.

I was looking forward to these for use in several places--especially the laundry room and bathroom where I battle smells in our humid climate. The bags arrived in a sealed mylar bag. On opening, all the bags were very damp to the touch and smelled of fish. I optimistically thought some time in the sun would cure that, so I put them all out for two hours in the bright Southern spring sun on a low-humidity day, turning them once to expose both sides. The smell did disappear.However, as soon as moisture was again absorbed, within two days for the bags in the bathroom and laundry room, the smell returned. I then removed the black labels, suspecting this material might be retaining odor; the labels also cover a lot of area of the bag and reduce area for air flow. The two bags that had absorbed moisture and had an odor took another, longer, turn in the sun and again smelled fine. But in both the laundry room and bath, the dampest areas, those bags have picked up moisture again in 2-3 days and they again are starting to smell of fish. Since the point was to reduce odors, they're worse than useless.The bag in the pantry seems fine and odors there are less--but that won't continue once the inevitable summer high humidity arrives here and it absorbs moisture.It would cost more than they are worth in cash and effort to pack these up for return, so I will count this as a lesson learned. I doubt it's the activated charcoal itself that smells, but instead is the result of where and/or how the product was processed or packed.

I had a moisture problem in my car. My windows had a fog on the inside. It also had a smell that people told me was foul. Apparantly I had gotten used to it. When girls tells you your call smells its time to find a solution. I want to remove the smell not cover it up. I put two of these in my car for a week while I was on vacation. When I returned the smell was completely gone. It also removed the moisture problem which was an added benefit. I put another in my fridge and man did that help. I would definitely buy these again. Don't know how long they will last but they definatly work initially. Worth every penny.

Incredible!! Works to prefrection and its only been 3 days since I got it...worked so well that I just ordered another. I was running out of options for nasty damp smelly gym bag that I keep in my car trunk which reeked after storing sweaty post cardio workout gear permeating throughout the trunk into the car. With this kit of bamboo coals I put two of small packs in each of my sweat damp running shoes before placing them back in my gym bag after a workout, then I put one of packs in my gym bag and one in the trunk. 24hrs later when I opened my trunk to get the bag for my next workout, the smell in the trunk was vertually gone, the two sweat soaked socks i had placed on the coal pack in the trunk was almost totally dry and no order (usually takes two days to dry in the trunk but still smells). When I opened my workout bag in the lockeroom..no smell in the bag!! Running shoes were almost totally dry and virtually no smell ...all in only a 24 hr. period!! It was amazing..imagine if I left in for another day...not a trace! I immediately ordered another pack, it arrive today..they deliver almost next day which is also impressive. I didnt think I would find a solution to this gym bag and car trunk oder issue but this totally solved a smelly damp problem, if it can solve this issue it can solve any!!! Highly recommend these packs!!

I have pets so this variety pack is perfect for my household. I have noticed a significant difference in smell everywhere I have put the bags. The 500g bag does an excellent job removing the dog smell in my living room. I’m using the 200g bags in my car, fridge and closet. The 50g bags fit perfectly in my old hiking boots. Overall I am very impressed with the product, I would highly recommend it to anyone with dogs or if you just want to freshen up the smell in your home. It really works!
