Leaking? I’ve got an easy fix!
The media could not be loaded. First of all, I love this Brita. It fits perfectly in my fridge, has great capacity, filters water quickly, water tastes great, etc. Highly recommend. After a few weeks of using this filter, it started leaking. First a little, then a lot. I thought it was broken. I exchanged it for a new one. Then after a few weeks, that one started leaking. I went down some Reddit sub threads and found a potential fix that seemed so obvious but easy, and it worked! If your filter starts leaking, let the tap “snap” back, instead of closing it gently. When closing it gently, the valve doesn’t always close fully, but it does when you let the tap “snap”.

Great alternative to the refrigerator build-in dispenser
We used the build-in water dispenser from our refrigerator for years and were eventually just tried of the slow water flow and expensive filters. We decided to try one of these even though we were hesitant to give up space in our refrigerator. After just a day or so, we knew we made the right call! The cons: it sucks to fill up. Yes, use the water line through refrigerator was much easier to use as we didn't have to fill it up. So there's no getting around that. But, we just try to top it off each day so that it never gets too low. It's not hard to fill up, it just takes time since you have to let it slowly drain. So don't let it get too empty! The pros: much colder water, faster water flow, and cheaper filters. Our refrigerator filters are $50+ so these are much cheaper. The water flow to fill our bottles is also much faster than our built-in fridge water. And on top of that, the water is colder which is a nice perk.Overall, definitely recommend!Note: I forgot to mention, our first unit had a leaky spigot. It would drip in our fridge and was quite messy. I contacted Brita and they sent me a replacement unit which has been great for several months now.

Don’t miss/lose the rubbery ring on the spigot!
Does exactly what it should. We keep it on the counter for the kids to get water easily. It leaked a bit after I cleaned it but I quickly discovered that I had dislodged the little rubbery ring from the spigot (it was on there but I hadn’t noticed it while washing). Don’t lose that piece or it will leak because that is what seals it! Once I put it back on properly it was perfect no more leak no problems.

leaks (update 2-6-25) fixed
I took the valve apart which is pretty easy because of the nice design and it appears that there was a particulate of some sort creating a space in the stopper that was making it leak, but one I cleaned the stopper it stopped leaking, this is a good company, they responded to my problem immediately, so I’v changed my review from a negative to a positive.I liked it for a few months, but then it started leaking and soaked my carpet and became worthless, they need to redesign the spigot, maybe a turn style or something that isn't as prone to leaking.

Twisted Love for a Leaky Brita in the fridge
So I bought this without reading the reviews and thought that it'd be something I might not wind up using. Well, it came, I put it in the fridge, and everyone immediately fell in love with it, including my teenagers, which I hadn't expected at all. Then after a day, it started leaking. It made me insane. One issue is that with the design of the spigot, when our fridge door shuts, it pushes the water filter back. Then, when you open the fridge again, you have to pull the Brita forward before trying to get water because otherwise, the water will splash all over the fridge. So there was much sticking of post it notes and warning everyone and suspecting who was not doing it right. The problem was, everyone loved the filter and kept using it and I was mopping up the water all the time. Then, I was home alone and realized that it was leaking by itself. I read the reviews at last and learned it was a common issue, esp in the fridge, I think because some of the parts contract when cold. Mine stopped leaking if I kept it on the counter. I tried all the easy fixes, nothing worked. So I returned it, got a replacement and did what one of the reviews said, which was to buy this other spigot and replace it on my new one.It is PERFECT. It fixed both problems. The design somehow allows me to close my fridge without it affecting the placement of the Brita. It doesn't leak at all. It was super easy to replace, like you literally just unscrew the existing spigot and screw the new one in (you don't use one of the stainless steel plates in the front because it won't fit but it doesn't affect it at all). So no more needing to move the Brita after closing the fridge door, no more water in my fridge and everyone is using this thing all day long. The water tastes amazing. This is the spigot I got based on the other reviews (Dozyant):https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RPBQBQ4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Good water pitcher
This thing was very useful for making formula bottles. It would store a ton of water and filter it out nicely. Taste was good as well. No issues, worth the purchase.

Cracked but Brita replaced it
The cracked and leaked water all over my counter. However, Brita replaced it with a better model.
