Something to consider in repelling fleas
I live in South Central Texas. It is flea season most of year. I am tired of using insect control recommended for on pet or person (esp fleas) that don't deliver. In past I used products that could be applied daily. Sadly these are not now readily avaliable. In my experience flea and other products that are labled 'lasts up to...' don't last days let alone the weeks or months indicated. These products are also toxic if over used. I or pet have gotten skin burns from some of these products. Products I found that do work are not cost effective for multiple pet household. I saw this and decided to give it a try. I mixed as directed. I noticed no overpowering oder after dilution. The faint oder is pleasant. I have 42 pound medium build dog. I decided to use a harness with spray on it. I mist harness the night before. This to allow product to dry completely. I noticed immediately decrease in fleas. Before I noticed FLEAS, after I noticed a isolated flea. Most of these were on his long tail and hind end. I wondered if this was due to flea bath and or lawn spaying. So I did an experiment. I misted harness nightly for a week. Rare flea noted. Then I didn't mist harness. The first day without misting showed no change in rare flea. Second day the same. I had about made up my mind in the negative about this product. Then day three and I had FLEAS! So many I had to give my dog a flea bath. So now I strongly recommend product. I chose a harness for my dog to use this; to increase area of coverage. I now use spray on pet sleeping areas and inside the dog house. Also, I mixed 8 ounces of water with the 1 ounce of concentrate. I do not know how long mixed solution lasts. So far it has lasted 12 days with no noticable difference in results.
