Life-changing, if you use it for voice recognition!
I'm stunned -- shocked, I tell you! Due to paralysis in my right hand, I've been using voice recognition software for 19 years, always with well-rated, higher end microphones (usually wired, but I've tried a couple wireless headsets too), and not one of the headset solutions can hold a candle to this bad boy! How so? voice recognition accuracy plus FREEDOM!Accuracy is, of course, the deal breaker; i.e., will my voice recognition software perform well with any mic or headset. I immediately saw a gigantic improvement in the quality, far beyond any other mic or headset I've ever used! What i mean by "FREEDOM" -- if you've been chained and constrained for decades by the requirement of a headset, you'll be in heaven with this thing; to be a foot or two from the desk mic, instead of it being attached to you, and yet getting even better accuracy, and a lower error rate. I find I'm using my voice recognition software much more often now, now that I don't have to saddle up my head with a headset to use it.Okay, sure, there's the obvious negative with this microphone -- its wallet-flattening impact. :( But I'm still giving this 5 stars, because the positive effect on my productivity and reduced stress has more than offset it.

smooth integration out of box with Dragon Home V15
So far it is all like. Need to master much more before the software is easy to use, but the table 3-1 microphone has been easy to install and make use of. As noted in many reviews, the mic is more expensive than most but the quality is excellent. Think I am going to really enjoy this: memoir, book development, etc.

One Star
I have used Dragon for over a decade. This microphone after training was very disappointing.

Looks like they are a serious bug
While the accuracy and fidelity of the microphone are as advertised, the build, at least on this unit, is not. All buttons on the top stopped working after two weeks, with the red light always on and the microphone always muted. The position of the slide switch on the underside of the base makes no difference to the performance of the buttons, which Speechware touts as a feature (‘noiseless’).Looks like they are a serious bug, at least on this unit. And since Macintosh users can't make use of the supplied Windows app to assign hot-keys, that option isn't available to me and I am returning this unit for full credit. Macintosh users should give this product a wide berth until Speechware provides them with access to the full Windows feature set -- which includes hot-key assignment.

Three Stars
Works but is very long.

SpeechWare's 3-in-1 TableMike: best performance per dollar
The SpeechWare TBK3 speech equalizer and microphone was suggested in Scott Baker's book, "The Writer's Guide to Training Your Dragon." I use the mic for speech transcription with Dragon Professional Individual version 15. If I do my part with respect to consistency and positioning, this microphone gives me very close to 100% accuracy. If you really need the most accuracy per dollar, you would do well to consider this combination of microphone and speech equalizer. For less than $300, this is the best I have found, and I have been using voice transcription software since the late 1980s, beginning with Dragon Dictate. By the way, this microphone was purchased by my employer, and we have no affiliation with SpeechWare or with Nuance. To date (07 April 2022), my only gripe is the short boom, and my employer has also purchased for me a boom extension from SpeechWare.

Great for voice recognition.
Amazing g quality for Dragon Naturally Speaking. You don't need to speak directly into it, it picks up well anywhere arou d my big desk. It doesntnlock up tok much with ambient noise. No other mic I have used table or headset is any better. This is my second one. I use three machines st a time and two misc. It is worth the cash.

Excellent microphone but not really superior to others in my opinion.
Works fine, and I like the ability to dictate from 12 inches away with good accuracy. Convenient size and fit on my desktop. Four stars because I do not find it superior in speech recognition to any of my other good quality microphones costing under 100 to over 400 dollars. A lot of hype, but still a very good microphone and which does not require close-to-mouth dictation.I use it with Dragon Medical Practice Edition v4, have used it with other editions as well. I dictate in a quiet environment, so I cannot attest to its noise cancellation. I purchased it from Knowbrainer, which I highly recommend although I note poor ratings on Amazon. I cannot understand these ratings because Knowbrainer has been excellent to me with many orders and excellent service.I use my other microphones with a Samson MB-1 mini boom stand which allows easy pull to my mouth and push away again, so I do not need the 12 inch distance that the Speechware allows. I much prefer a tabletop microphone to headset or to handheld, keep both hands free and nothing wired to my face and head. I've never tried wireless.
