38700 Foot Switch FS

If you haven’t purchased this foot pedal for your Proxxon rotary tool, run out and get one! It’s a game changer. Controlling the workflow with a foot pedal is much safer and more convenient than turning it on and off with the dial on the handle. I have a Proxxon model building and engraving set, 38515. It’s the best rotary tool I’ve owned. The foot pedal makes it even better. I wish I had purchased everything sooner. Can’t recommend it enough. There may be multiple versions, so check to make sure it’s compatible with your Proxxon system when ordering.

What is there to say, you step on the gas, it goes. Steel construction, fairly heavy AC cord. If only buy one accessory for your hot wire table, get this! Being able to use both hands while turning the heat on and off with your foot is invaluable!

This foot switch works as intended. It makes a fairly quiet clicking sound when pressed, and takes a trivial amount of force to hold down. It is not variable resistance, so it will power up devices immediately. It comes with two screw holes for mounting to the floor, but will sit still just fine without that. My only complaint is trivial: This switch is only rated for up to 4 amperes. This is plenty for the Proxxon tools, and for just about anything else I can think of plugging into this pedal. If for some reason you're looking for a pedal that can safely handle more current, then you might want to consider a different product. NOTE: At least at the time of this posting, the picture is incorrect. The plugs on this product are for North American outlets.

If you own a Proxxon Thermocut, this is one thing that you should really consider buying. The footswitch is a push on/release off switch that plugs into your Proxxon between the wall and the cutter and allows you to use both hands on your project, while having control over the power to the hot wire. Highly recommend this product. Note: It is pretty lightweight, so I suggest that you attach it to a piece of wood or something, so it stays in place.

If you own a Proxxon wire foam cutter, buy this accessory. After having left my proxxon on one too many times, i can see the utility. But more so than just the energy savings, having a stray piece of foam melt into a goo in the wire hole of the proxxon can cause you quite a bit of greif. This pedal alleviates this by instantly turning off the proxxon once you step away from it.

If you use rotary or other small power tools, you really need a third hand sometimes. The Proxxon Foot Switch gives you the convenience of a third hand without the exposure to nuclear radiation or genetic engineering. I find the foot switch useful when engraving glass with the Proxxon Engraving Tool, or sawing intricate patterns into gourds with the Proxxon Jig Saw. Be careful, though! It's a momentary switch, and is REALLY responsive! You will start sooner and end more abruptly than you expect a couple of times before you get the feel for this switch.

This Foot switch will turn on and off anything that runs on 110v so it can have multiple uses. It's not a super high quality device so if you want something to use every day that's heavy duty I would get a foot switch using metal parts this is all plastic. At it's price though it should be a little more heavy duty at least the foot pedal and base should be metal.

use the foot switch as as a single source of power for all my power tools. This way I power only the tool that I'm using at the time and no hunting for the tools on off switch while it is running

Works with basic functionality of a momentary on switch. Toy-like construction... does not feel durable. It causes a deafening POP through the speakers of my shop stereo whenever it is triggered or released. In this case, you definitely get what you pay for.
