Consistency is key
My review is about effectiveness and not flavor/taste. I started drinking the canned Recess nightly, unintentionally, and noticed how much better I was sleeping and feeling steadier mentally throughout the day. And I would feel the difference if I skipped a couple days, but eventually I kind of forgot about it until I saw the powder form at a store and resumed. Along with sleeping better I think it helps my mood through out the day and I feel sharper when I need to focus or be creative.I already take a blend of other forms of magnesium and tend to take 2x-3x the RDA because that’s what feels best, but I think my experience is a testament to how effective l-threonate is. I believe drinking it in either the carbonated or powder form has more of a placebo effect for me in the moment and that the real benefit is in consistency. This powder is great for taking it as a supplement (as opposed to drinking the can as a non alcoholic treat) and for ~$25 for 28 servings, not to mention the other ingredients, is a really good value. Magnesium l-threonate is the form that crosses the blood brain barrier, so it’s the only one that has real cognitive benefits. Recess uses a high quality form and this is a solid dose.I feel best when I use it along with several other forms of magnesium (you can get decent blends for ~$15/month) at a high dose, but staying at 250mg or less of each form. This take could be way off, but part of me thinks stacking the types like this delivers more mg l-threonate to my brain because the other forms are taking the load off of treating my other systems.Considering magnesium is one of the only supplements that every single person should be taking, and this is one of the highest quality forms available, Recess is kind of missing the mark with their marketing of this because I had to piece together just how unique of a product it is. I would have started buying it in bulk years ago if they presented it seriously as a supplement to take consistently vs a fun drink when you want to relax.

My favorite bedtime mocktail add in.
I have ADHD and I’m on prescription medication for it. Sleep is a struggle for me whether I’m on medication or not. I have a hard time quieting my brain and stimulants can add to the stress. I cannot take melatonin. Tried this on a whim, and it actually helps! I make a bedtime mocktail with seltzer, natural sugar free tart cherry juice, and a sprinkle of this. I’m out in about a half an hour.

Great taste and hydration
Love the taste and I definitely felt the “calming effect “ when I used the full spoon per 1 cup of water the other night, unfortunately it seems my skin absolutely freaked out from the magnesium and I look 13 again. I wish I could keep drinking this without the cystic acne flare up. If you don’t have sensitive skin, I do recommend though

Great Alcohol Alternative
I have been using Recess Mood Powder for a few weeks now, and it’s become a really comforting part of my daily routine. The blend of calming ingredients, plus the added vitamins, makes it feel like I’m supporting both my mind and body at the same time. The taste is light and refreshing (not overly sweet or artificial), and it mixes easily into water without any weird aftertaste or gritty texture. Within about 20 minutes of drinking it, I notice a genuine sense of relaxation without feeling drowsy or “out of it” — just calmer and more grounded.I especially love that the formula is non-habit-forming and free of anything heavy or harsh. It feels like a natural and gentle way to unwind in replacement of wine Definitely a new staple for me!

Great for my perimenopause symptoms
I have been using this for about 2 months and I have notice a difference in my sleep , mood and belly fat. I am in perimenopause and nothing was working until I tried this product and I tried everything! I purchase the unflavored and add it to my morning coffee. It is a little gritty but not so much that I can't drink it. Great product!

I’d rather have detention…
Okay, so the stars are mainly for the flavor. I mixed the berry flavor with plain water and thought it was delicious. This was approximately 7:30 pm. By 8:30 I was comatose on the couch and couldn’t wake up enough to go to bed until around 5:30 am. I had no trouble getting back to sleep…. And that’s when the dreams kicked in.First I was hanging out with rich, famous and deceased basketball players and their children (rip Kobe)…. And somehow that lead me into co-writing “Why I did it” with OJ. I mean wTF. Btw, OJ had me sign a contract that the book couldn’t be released until after Goldman/Brown families are gone so that his children could get the money. Not an author, not a basketball fan, not a fan of not being able to stand up…. And stay the f out of my dreams oj. With that being said. The flavor is good. The effects are not for me. And the pricing seems really high. I can legally go buy pot where I live and it’s cheaper and does the same thing.

Too Inconsistant…
I have been buying Recess powder for around three years now and it is truly my favorite calming product, however, the inconsistency in availability and price has become something that I’m not willing to deal with anymore. This product used to be $17 and now it’s almost $40. I’ve also ordered multiple times and received the wrong product. I have officially moved on to a lesser product that has better customer service. Not everyone wants your ready made drinks - I’m not sure why it’s so difficult to get and use the powder. If this ever changes, let me know .

Tasty and calming
Very tasty and calming. The double magnesium really helps with relaxation after a long day. I’ve tried a couple others; this one beats them.
