I own two identical 2015 Mazda CX-5's; one for each kid of ours. Both were given these as a Christmas present. Installation was a breeze, with one exception. The hardest part of the install was laying upside down under the dash and securing the "brain box" with a ziptie somewhere. I used a large wiring harness to ziptie the box to. There's not much room under the dash, and you really need three hands to hold the box and both ends of the ziptie. Programming took less than 60 seconds, and both CX-5's remote started perfectly. I ordered the "Lock, Unlock, Lock" sequence because that sequence keeps the horn on the car from sounding during the remote start process. If you order the "Lock, Lock, Lock" sequence you will get two blasts from the horn as you press the lock button for the second and third time- not what our neighbors want to hear early in the morning... The question came up on how to shut off the engine remotely if needed. No guidance was given in the instructions on how to do this. The answer? With the car already remote started, press the start sequence again and sure enough- it shuts back down. We also like the fact that the car does not shut off when the door is unlocked and opened after a remote start. Car stays running, and you simply plop into the car and press the brake pedal for three seconds to transfer out of the remote start mode and into the full "run" mode. Well worth the money. Easy install and worked perfect. Would buy again.

Seriously worth every penny. I’ve installed remote starts before, it has never been this easy. Plug and play and auto programs, then operates like a factory starter using the original fob and stays running when you get in, just depress the brake and go. 10/10 would buy again.

There wasn’t many reviews for a 2025 CX-5 so I thought I’d say something. Just installed in my 2025 Mazda CX-5 Turbo Signature. Was very easy to install, took about 20 mins and seems to works great!! I purchased this because I hate that Mazda makes you agree to their privacy policies if you use their app. If you read that policy it says that they record and use all of your information that the car collects for advertising and they share all of your personal information as they please. They go as far as to clarify that they record how fast you drive, how you apply your brakes, and other driving habits… no way I’m agreeing to that BS and neither should you!

Love this remote starter, works perfect on my 2025 CX-5. I can use this and not have to worry about paying $10 per month for Mazda’s subscription which is awesome. Can start my car from about 50 feet away. Took me about 20 minutes to install, instructions were pretty basic but clear.

I installed this on a 2021 Mazda 6. Overall, it took about an hour to install. A lot of that time was spent scouting a good location to put the module once everything was hooked up. Installation videos show the driver side kick panel as a good place to put it. That didn't seem like a good option for me. Not enough room. Getting the included harness installed was very simple and straight forward. I found a good spot to tuck the module in up higher near the wheel well. It fit like it was meant to be there, really. Programming the module was very easy and took about 60 seconds. After everything was buttoned back up, I tested the remote start several times and the car started without any issues every time. Go with the Lock-Unlock-Lock version. Less chance of unintentionally starting the car and you shouldn't get annoying horn honks when starting the car.

I owned my 2017 Mazda 3 for 8 years and i finally got tired of it not having a remote start. Bought this kit and installed it the same day. The installation is quick even though it was a tight fit. There are plenty of youtube tutorial on how to install it as well as fixing your automatic window. I think it is worth the money if you live in cold or hot environments.

Perfect plug and play. 15 minute install. Been running for about a year with no issues. I recommend this brand to everyone

Works great! Installed on my 2016 cx9. Removed battery terminal, steering wheel cover, disconnected the wires from the steering column, figured out how I wanted to route and mount it with it possibly rubbing against and sharp edges, connected the provided harness and routed the wiring and zipped it all up. Made sure the module was kinda accessible/ visible incase I want to put the range extender on it in the future. Followed the instructions to program the module and tested it then put it all back together again. Been working ever since I put it in.

Works great on our 2019 Mazda CX-5. Has been running perfectly for 11 months now with no issues, hasn’t lost its memory or loose wiring or anything. As a moderate DIYer it installed easily and in less than hour including programming; the instructions and video together were pretty good, definitely better than for most products. I put the module above the left front wheel well. Love that you don’t need to add a second remote to your keychain. I like that the Lock-Unlock-Lock option doesn’t beep the horn. Can’t say how long its range is but through one exterior wall from about 60 feet it starts every time for me. Price has dropped from $300 to $280 (CAD) since I bought it in Dec 2023. Start-X is now my go-to for any vehicles I’ll be buying in the future, especially if the price comes down further.

Installation was easy , quick connect , No splicing , follow the instruction . This model do not need to go to a computer with windows to program it ! ( some start X module require you to connect to a window computer , download an application and program it ) Its only have to " Learn" the immobiliser code . For this price you can't beat that , and you still use the oem Key fob.

Installed on a 2015 Mazda 3. Installation is as easy as everyone has noted. The most difficult part is the steering column, but that is simple as well. The starter works perfectly and will be a great addition during the cold winter months. Worth mentioning, I had a question regarding operation and emailed their support, got an automated reply and within minutes i received a detailed reply with answers to my question. If you are on the fence with buying this, my advice would be to get it. You'll be happy you did
