My daughter has low iron. We discovered it at 2.5 years old and it was a huge battle trying to get her to take her prescribed iron. It literally tasted like blood (I try everything before I give it to her). She has the palate of an adult. Her favorite food is rare steak and she loves liverwurst, so she is used to a metallic flavor. Next, I ordered NovaFerrum Yummy Liquid Iron, which claimed to be “Yummy” and had a “pleasant taste that kids will enjoy without the yucky taste of iron”, but that was false, it made her gag even if she chased it with grape juice afterwards. It was just as bad as the prescription iron. I was beyond frustrated and decided to give this product a go and was amazed that the product tastes nothing like iron. She loves it. I tried it too and it truly just tastes like a sour candy. I’m newly pregnant, so I definitely would taste the metallic flavor if it was there. I actually plan on taking this myself if I end up being anemic this time around as it is very easy on my stomach and I have terrible morning sickness all day.
