Super easy to install this battery in the JBL Charge 3 blue tooth speaker. There are a lot of Youtube videos on how to change battery. Definitely worth the money to replace battery. Speaker is working again!

My Charge 3 JBL Speaker has been great for 6 or 7 years but had started running down after a full charge in only a day or two. I decided to look at YouTube for instructions on how to replace the battery. Sure enough they are there. I ordered this from the YouTube link provided (in the comments with the video) and when the battery arrived, sat down and followed it step by step.I will add one thing. You should make sure you have a Phillips screwdriver with a proper tip. (#1 tip or even a #0 tip). This is next sharper than a #2 tip - which most people own. This battery comes with a phillips driver that you can make work but you will hate life after a few minutes. Just get a decent screwdriver not a tiny Fisher Price model that this comes with.Also, if you have someone who can video you removing the screws (go slow and make sure they can get a good shot of each screw location) then you may just manage to put them all back!! I was pretty careful and when all was said and done I had a new battery and everything in place and screwed down AND TWO EXTRA SCREWS!! This was installing a battery in my unit and no screws came with it - so obviously I missed two but there are MANY screws to make sure it is properly sealed and water proof. If you do what I recommend and document you will be fine. Also, the YouTube Video was of a Charge 3 that was not identical to what I was doing - so I could not review the video to see where I missed a couple of screws since it was different enough to not be a fix. It did show the important parts of how the heck to get into the unit and how to remove one of the end caps. Just go slow and steady and watch carefully to get it open without damaging the clips that must snap back together when you are done!! It works perfectly and I am still running two weeks later on the charge from the factory!! Problem solved!

I have had to replace the batteries in both of my older JBL boxes, It's a fairly easy process, But be sure to watch a few youtube instructional videos before you get started, the charge 3 boxes are designed to be serviceable, but it requires a gentle touch in some places as there are lots of little plastic tabs which are easily cracked or broken if you aren't careful.I can't speak to the lifespan of this particular battery yet since I just installed it, but I can say that it appeared to be of pretty good quality, came nicely boxed, and even included some disassembly tools for removing the outer grills of the speaker.My charge 3 is running great again and hold a charge as well as it did when it was new, I'm happy!

This is the second replacement battery I've ordered to replace a failing one in my second JBL Charge 3.The battery is fine so far and came in basic packaging along with a spatula and screwdriver. Both of these were poor but useable. So overall OK value and no problems with install. Marked down to four as the last battery I ordered cam with far better spatula and screwdriver.

Bought this replacement battery for my JBL Charge 3. This battery is the second I have replaced from the unit's original one. The first one I replaced only lasted over a year before not holding charge and getting bloated. This new unit appears to be better-made and it is holding its charge for significantly longer periods. Will report durability and reliability profile a few months from now.In the interim, this battery appears to be a more than adequate replacement for the original one the JBL Charge 3 came with.
