Pessoa: An Experimental Life

It's safe to say that Richard Zenith's epic treatise will be the definitive biography of Fernando Pessoa. The book is very well written and reasonably readable.There were two things that really impressed me. First, the depth of the research is absolutely astonishing. Second, the book provides contains a formidable amount of Portuguese history.The only shortcoming--and it's a minor one--is that the readability of Zenith's text is average.The notes are extensive and contain an excellent amount of helpful information. There's also a thorough bibliography.

J'aimerais certainement lire le livre, mais...

I am portuguese and I cannot overstate this magnificent study which not only delves deeply into Pessoa’s story and personality, but also draws a wide canvas of the social and cultural context within which his life unfolds. Magnificent!

Es una buena edición. Al ser de tapa blanda, quizá la cubierta es demasiado blanda para el peso del libro ya que es una extensa biografía. La edición escrita por Richard Zenith es de las mejores más completas biografías de Fernando Pessoa que he leído.

Very thorough book and generally an excellent introduction to the world of Pessoa
