LacisOpen Top Tailor's Thimble-Size 17mm

Just arrived. Love the open end so fingernails can fit through! Just wish it was a TAD bit smaller at tip because my finger goes in a bit more than feels comfortable for pushing a needle, but that's my finger not the design. I can just put a bandaid around my finger and - voila! Fits perfectly! Great product!

My sister-in-law has been in search for one that would fit on her hand for ages. This is sturdy and small enough for her.

The thimble fits perfectly. I use an 18mm closed top thimble and the 17mm thimble from Lacis fits well for my purposes. Thing to note is it is brass and it can turn your finger green because of the copper inside. I was wearing it for 45 minutes and took it off to find my finger slightly green.Not an entire deal breaker but I would say: be aware that this will change the color of your skin after a few minutes into a project.

It was too big. I wish they had different sizes to choose from.

it is hard to find deep dimple tailor thimbles

I have a size 11 thimble from Wawak that I misplaced. Wawak no longer sells that exact size so from searching around online I decided that size 11 and 17 mm correspond so I ordered this. I've since found the other thimble. this thimble seems to be, as measured with a ruler, not with a mic, the same as the size 11 in its base diameter and its slope but it it about .75 mm longer so its small end is narrower. I think I might like a larger size better. This could fit further on my finger, if it were a larger size, and still not hit the first joint. Anyway, this has larger dimples and is more secure in that regard. I can sew with less concentration on pushing the needle with the thimble.
