Top quality food!
My betta loves this food. His color is very vibrant and pretty, as well. The only issue is that they sink around a minute after touching the water, so you have to get the fish in line of sight and ready. But, my betta also seems to really enjoy chasing the food to the bottom of the tank. So its kinda a win win. Just drop a few pellets at a time.

High quality and my Betta loves them!
I found out about Betta Bits through a Betta fish care video I watched on YouTube. These were highly recommended by a Betta enthusiast so I decided to look into them. The ingredients have minimal filler and high protein content, and you can tell by the smell that it’s decent quality. I rotate between these and the Fluval Bug Bites (Betta formula). I feed Betta Bits most of the time. The size is small enough so that my Betta can easily eat them and I only feed 4-5 pellets a day, and skip feeding once a week. My Betta hasn’t been a picky eater at all-he just comes right up to the top of his tank and scarfs down whatever food I feed him. Most of the time the Betta bits float at the top. I only feed one at a time to prevent any from sinking. My fish is really good at diving down to immediately eat a pellet if it sinks, but they hardly ever do. I keep him in a 5 gallon filtered tank, and with his diet, he is very active and healthy. He’s a Bumble Bee Betta (black body with gold/yellow tail with black trim, and yellow front fins) and his colors are vibrant. Since I only have one Betta and feed only a few pellets in a day, these will last a long time to come. I’d recommend going for the smaller sized bag unless you have multiple Betta tanks. I will definitely repurchase once I run out, which won’t be for a while.

Betta loves it.
Betta loves this food, it can not get enough and even dives for the ones that sink. His color got more vibrant and he seems to be happier - more active and started to blows bubble nest. He interacts with us more, or begs for more food lol. Bits are small and my fish prefers it that way, he is no longer spits it out due to size. I have to drop 2 at a time for bits not to sink too fast and accumulate at the bottom. There is also plenty of food in that bag, will probably last this betta his whole life.

They all float in there...
So these pellets do float at first! But when they sink, they go relatively quickly so if your betta didn't see it, there's a decent chance it's gone forever. My sweet boy LOVES these. I feed him one by one with tweezers. I think a lot of the reviews saying they sink are just dropping them all in one go, which is why they sink. They have time to sit and soak up the water.I tap the surface of the water gently with the tweezers and it gets my betta's attention for breakfast/dinner so the pellets rarely have time to sink. If he sees it, he catches it while it's sinking pretty easily, though, so no complaints there. He loved the flavor so much that it's way too tempting to overfeed him. He's so eager for the pellets that I wanna keep giving them to him. (Don't do that lol) All in all, very happy with the product and highly recommend it.

tasty sinks
My Bettas really like this - gobble it up; and this food smells good - but the pellets sink very quickly - a one pellet at a time feed is the only way to keep food from sinking to the bottom, where it gets into the gravel and my betta buds can't eat it - I have 1 betta fella that will chase a 'sinker' from time to time - but my others aren't interested once the pellet starts sinking - my 3 betta buds live in 9 gallon, filtered tanks. This food might work out better for bettas living in the smallish, daily water changed fish bowls. For my setup please MAKE IT SO IT FLOATS for more than 1 second!

Great product, floats
I was worried because I heard they don't float but they do for me. Good ingredients and great value with a TON of food. If you go to a mainstream pet store you'll pay the same price for 1/4 the amount for brands without as good ingredients.Dante, my Betta, loves these. He's always eager and eats them within 10 seconds. They float until that point and I haven't had 1 sink yet. They're very pungent and I think that helps the fish locate them when they drop. If I drop it in the tank behind him, he immediately knows where it is even without having seen it.They're pretty small so you can feed them 3-5 pellets per meal but Dante is always dancing trying to get my attention for more. I've been feeding 3 pellets 3 times a day or 4 or 5 pellets twice a day and that seems to be working fine with no bloating. He's still very active with plenty of bubbles. I'll serve these 2 days in a row then blood worms the 3rd day. I have 1 fasting day bi-weekly.

Excellent product! Our fish is happy.
These Betta Bits are so much better than the cheap betta food from the grocery store! Our betta is a healthier weight, and his colors are brighter than they were before. Our fish is crazy about this food- it is by far his favorite of the various types we tried. Since the pellets are so tiny, he doesn't have any trouble eating it like he did with some of the larger ones (therefore no soaking is required.) They float for a good amount of time so he has plenty of chances to grab them. The bag size is generous! If you have one betta fish and keep the food sealed well, it should last for ages. We keep ours clipped and put the bag inside a second container, to keep it fresh. Also, the company is really responsive if you have questions! They helped us figure out how much we should be feeding our fishie, and how often. I appreciated that.

High Quality But Difficult to Use for Bettas
I'm a huge Northfin fan because of the high quality ingredients. I stopped using food from the big makers like Tetra and Hakari once I read the ingredients. This is the first Northfin product that his disappointed me, not because of the ingredient quality but because the pellets sink almost immediately. My betta won't feed off the bottom, particularly since I have gravel in the tank.I plan to use this product in one of my other tanks that has faster fish that can catch the pellets before they hit the bottom, but will keep looking for a high quality betta food.
