First off, it's not real leather or anything like "real" leather in the sense of touch, feel, or smell - instead it's more like a vinyl hybrid thats thin, shinny, and very smooth with little to no resistence in the surface it provides. That said, it comes faily large - I picked up the largest size, and it's perfect for my setup! Water doesn't absorb, it gives a nice large/even surface to work with, it's clean, has a great look, and feels just about perfect for my needs, especially at this price point!It does have a slight grain-like texture and give that immitates "real" leather but only slightly, and that's saying a lot for the cost. It seems like a pretty solid product all around, but like all artificial leather products I do have concerns with how it will hold up over time and age through different temp changes in the environment. For now the surface isn't showing any signs of bunching or tearing and while it did have the smell others have mentioned when I first unpacked it, it was gone after about a 12hrs of being drapped over a chair before use.Quick word of advise, read the directions - I almost didn't. The pad will come rolled up tight in a box, you'll need to un roll, flip and re-roll to get the curl out rolling against the original direction), and press down a bit on the re-roll to help flatten out the tightest part of the curl in the center. I also recommend doing this to both sides for best results. In my case, I did my re-rolls, then drapped it over my office chair over night by a cracked window. In the morning the smell was gone, the pad looked fairly flat, and when I put it on my desk it sat perfectly and was ready for use.I love the new large surface area on my desk, more then enough space to place my keyboard and various contollers with room to move things around :)

This is a simple, elegant, well crafted desk pad. By comparison I now realize how badly my old one needed to be replaced. This new pad is sleek and made of a soft, pleasing leather that is nice to the touch yet holds contact with my desk top very well even though my desk has a somewhat slick finish. Sizing is perfect. I couldn't be more pleased with this product, and highly recommend it.

The Mat has a very nice look & feel. It stays flats and feels Premium while using. I gave it 4 out of 5 because sometimes I feel the texture is a bit rough when gliding my mouse for long distances, or making sudden & quick movements.Overall, it's a really good mat and has good value for money.

This is the right size and great quality… I have retuned so many desk mats from Amazon that were just horrible & cheaply made I had resided to that fact I was going to have to pay for a custom mat $180 when I priced it. I gave Amazon one more try during prime day and I am so glad I found this Desk Mat!!! I love it.No wrinkles from packing rolled perfectly & I may even order a second one in a different color.It’s smooth and looks good not cheaply made like the 4 others I ordered and retuned from other companies.

I just received the desk ordered. It is beyond my expectations Very classy looking, color blends in with the desk top. I'm using this to protect my desk top from any damage due to the copy machine that sits on my desk. Although this mat will be mostly covered up, the quality shines through! If I need another desk mat, I'll be purchasing it here. Worth every penny!

I bought the black one and it has two textures on it. I use the bumpier texture (I don't have to write on paper on my desk) and it looks like real leather. No weird smell when I unpacked it. I did as other reviews suggested and rolled it backwards and secured it with the included belt for a few hours. When I was ready to place it there was no issue with rolling up at the edges. It sits flat and the edge doesn't have a seam which I like. Some of the deskmats I saw had a seam which people said irritated their arms and that is not a problem with this one. I am able to use this desktop mat with my optical mouse and no other mousepad.

This is the perfect size for what I need. I just got it today so I can't speak to the longevity, but it seems to be a nice material and I imagine it will last a long time.

PU leather may be a hint for the smell, stinky leather. Although it’s not leather. Which is nice because of the animals. Which is bad because more plastic and it is a misleading descriptor.The other issue is that it will not flatten even after putting heavy books on it for a week. It was inexpensive, otherwise the rating would be much less. Would not purchase again.

The VineCreations leather desk pad is of high quality and large enough to fit both my iMac 27, keyboard and mice. The pad is perfect as a pad for the mice. Highly recommended!
