This book is poorly written & was not comprehensive
I read this book & i read the same brand of book three years ago when i took and passed the CAS002 exam.I hate to write negative reviews but I am an IT professional who has read atleast 25 certification books & i feel this is poorly written. Not to go into terrible detail the book:1. Fails to go into details or address technologies that are found on the CAS003 (I took it today)2. With all due respect the author often goes over the same things in chapters that are not related to the chapter the content is supposed to be addressing for a given chapter. Example "blah blah blah but that was covered in chapter X" very often.***I would try one of the other study materials

Failed the exam twice
I read through the book once, and then the second time I went and took notes. I took all the practice exams so often that I memorized the answers. After the first time I failed, I went back and read up on the areas that I missed. Just failed the second time, and honestly I have no idea how one would study for the CASP exam. The book isn't necessarily bad, it just does not prepare you for the exam.

Great book. No Silver Bullet.
I've purchased and read a number of different IT certification books for different certification exams. I would rate the Abernathy CASP certification guide as the best when preparing for the CompTIA exam. If you are looking for a book that is readable from front to back; then this book is for you. It covers the majority of the topics on the exam in enough depth that with study and taking practice exams the average person can pass the exam. The publisher (Pearson IT) offers practice exams at no extra charge using the card in the back of the book. There is no 'silver bullet' when studying for and trying to pass the CompTIA exam. You'll need to use what you learned reading this book to investigate subject areas called out on the CompTIA exam objectives. If you are new to a particular topic (such as cloud or SDLC) you may have to use Google and find additional information about that topic. The CompTIA exam is written from the perspective of someone who works for / reports to a CISO. This book is written to educate people from that perspective. Remember that the book was originally printed when the exam was introduced. The exam is updated regularly but the topics covered are all still listed in the published objectives.

Be cautious with Pearsonitcertification website
The book is descent in information and layout. I purchased the additional features listed in the back. That is where the issues lay. I received a receipt, but did not get any information on downloading the PDF or extra exams. Pearsonitcertification deactivated their support phone number. The email support took 4 days to reply and pretty much blew me off by directing me to FAQ which provided no information on my specific issue.

Plenty of info, but dont only rely on this
Good book with a lot of info that is useful for the exam and solid review questions at the end of every chapter. Sometimes it was difficult to read with some items being listed as "we spoke about this in ch. X", as other reviews stated but some items were repeated multiple times which helped on the exam. Solid book choice and definitely covers plenty of what you will see on the exam and would read again if needed.FYI, DO NOT only use this as your only study resource, the CASP exam is not easy and you must leverage your 10+ years of experience to pass the exam, at least I had to.
